This has been on for weeks and I've just missed it 'cause I don't have cable, right?

Right. When I went to get my usual Tuesday Breakfast from BK what did I behold but a HUGE Spongebob sitting ontop of the roof.

And I present...

I've seen this repeatedly in the last week. I'm not sure what to think of it, except that I can't believe they made this and put it on the air. It's like a train accident - you can't bear to watch yet you can't take your eyes off of it.

I find the Burger King extremely creepy, and that ad just makes me want to never eat BK again.

Compare the first time they had a live Burger King character. Shlocky but safe.

I find every commercial with "The King" to be warped and creepy.

Well, they don't tell you the full name.

It's The Burger King in Yellow.

I don't know about THAT commercial, but if Burger King is doing Spongebob toys, I now know why my kids have been asking to go there every day this week. (If they had simply SAID they wanted the toys I may have considered it. I prefer honesty to, "I don't know, I just like their hamburgers."

"You don't eat hamburgers, and we've been there twice. Ever.")

If that's the "I like square butts and I can not lie" commercial, I have proof (http://ladysprite.livejournal.com/391419.html) that it's been on for over a week, but I have no idea how long they've been airing it.

(I'm on dial-up. I am not clicking that button.)

Well, it gets noticed. And you'll remember it for a long, long time, no matter how much booze or drugs you ingest. In that aspect, this commercial is full of win.

Maybe McDonalds made the commercial? In that case, it's double win!

Personally I thought the commercial was funny, especially since parent groups are up in arms over it. Makes me smile just think about that vein in their heads throbbing away. ;)

However there is a more twisted video I'm aware of, and its an AMV. It uses Berserk as the Anime and it's absolutely Not Safe For Work. I share it with you now so that it might cleanse your brains of the BK commerical.

and yes, yes I am sick and wrong. :)

As a parent, it disgusts me. I am not taking my kids there while it is on the air. But then, I concider myself a fairly active parent, and one who has fits over the whole sexualization of children crap thats been really common lately. I won't buy bratz products for instance, or support that brand name in any way, and have returned discretely what gifts the kids got that were sexualized.

I have to admit, the lyrics were quite clever, and the performance was good.

Which just makes the whole thing more mind-boggling. I mean, they're fucking advertising kids' meals with this? Holy crap.

i just made a comment about this on my facebook - this whole mess of BK commercials is just creepy! i hate those things, and as an educator and considering myself to be quickly becoming a child advocate, these commercials really just make me ill... this new "king" character is just scary, and makes me understand why some people are scared of clowns! i'm with y'all, all this does is make me want to avoid BK and any fast-food places like them...(as if the food quality wasn't enough)
