I can't help but notice a distinct lack of Padma.

Saw the list of contestants about a month ago, and I'm still rooting for the same two guys going in: Not-Quite-Iron-Chef Besh, and Wylie Dufresne (partly because I've seen them the most, though if they weren't cool, that would have worked against them). And yes, I hope Wylie cooks straight at least a good portion of the time, saving the molecular gastronomy for when it specifically enhances the food. That way, nobody can get up on their hind legs and bitch about "tricks" or the equivalent.

While we're on the subject of judges, I'd trade Gael for Gail, too :-)

Yeah, Besh is my favorite too. I also like Wylie and Elizabeth Faulkner.

Well, the robes and makeup and big hairpieces kind of get in the way of effective kitchen work.
