I will not be in Manitoba that weekend. However, a large, hairy musician just might sing "The Ballad of Fenton".
What's your May schedule looking like? I'm going to be at PenguiCon this weekend, singing at a wedding next weekend, instead of KeyCon I'll likely be in Indiana, and Memorial Day weekend I'm going with Anne up to Anime North in Toronto (so, sorry, no MarCon this year, but we'll see about next).

Date: 2009-04-29 01:19 pm (UTC)MIGHT stick my head into Peng.. have to see if I get enough done around the house. Weekend of the 15th is the Motor City Comic Con out in Novi... Diana's got a table.
I'll have the house to myself over Memorial Day as the girl's will be in TO for the anime con. I've no desire to go to Marcon and all the people I'd normally go out to see at Media*West are either not going to be there this year or I just saw them.

Date: 2009-04-29 01:47 pm (UTC)I'll be commuting to Penguicon this weekend, though the schedule's a little up in the air. Friday evening, Sharon and I may be going to the Pioneer High production of "Urinetown". (A friend's son is in it.) On Saturday, I might not get to the con until afternoon, choosing instead to stop at the Vault of Midnight for Free Comic Book Day first.
May 9th, I'm participating in a fundraising walk for the MS Society in the morning, and the Acorn Music and Verse house sing is in the afternoon. May 10th, I'll be taking Sharon and my mother out for a nice Mother's day lunch.
The weekend of May 15-17 might actually be open. I'll have to check.
May 22-24 is Marcon.
May 27th I'll be in Chicago for my Jeopardy! audition.

Let's see....Beltane celebration on 5/3, New Warrior I-Group council meeting in Cincinnati on 5/9, open 5/16 for now, Marcon on 5/23 (if I go, I'm only going for Saturday), and open 5/30 for now. During the week I'll be looking for work and going through my stuff at home. Oh, and spending time with The Girl on most Sundays as well.
Anime North?
Date: 2009-04-29 02:33 pm (UTC)Are you preforming at the convention, or just attending?

- Retro SciFi Festival at StarBase
- The Rocky Horror Picture Show (our Prom show)
Then, I'll be at MARCon as well. It's sad to not have you there, this year.
That's about it for May, plus throw in some movie openings and personal projects.

Date: 2009-04-29 04:32 pm (UTC)No cons here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in May, but we do have the Northwest Folklife Festival (http://www.nwfolklife.org) over Memorial Day Weekend. My wife refers to this as "the most expensive free event in town." It's nominally free, but they encourage donations (which I don't mind, as it's necessary to keep the event going), and the walkways of Seattle Center are lined with eateries just specifically designed to draw you in, knock you over the head, and leave you with an empty pocket and a happy palate. It used to be worse; last year they discontinued the instrument vendors' area, which used to get a disproportionate amount of my attention and many years, a bunch of my cash. I bought pennywhistles, bones, a Pyrex flute and a digeridu there at various times.

Following ones, hopefully much needed overtime and double time at work.
May 30, Carrie's wedding

Date: 2009-04-29 05:01 pm (UTC)I'm also going to a wedding, and a couple of SCA events, and a Memorial Day party, but the primary excitement for me will be strapping on a pair of artificial wings and throwing myself into the air a mile above the ground.
WHEEEEEE!
Oh yeah, I'm also performing with my burlesque troop at a fundraiser - I've got about 2 1/2 weeks to choreograph a snake dance (OK, reconstruct from memory one I did about 3 years ago) and get it up to performance level.
Never let it be said that my life is boring.... :)

Date: 2009-04-29 08:09 pm (UTC)PenguiCon 1-4 (I am taking the extra day at the con hotel and going home on Monday)
Free time 9-10 (good, I need it)
Mother's Day command performance 16-17 (parents demand I give them both weekend days)
Friend's graduation party on the 23rd (will run very late, if not over-night, so probably the 24th is sleep-in/recovery)
And Carrie Dahlby's wedding the weekend of 29-31
Very full month for me, and none of it tied up with working over the weekend (like the last 2-3 months).

Date: 2009-04-29 09:49 pm (UTC)Short version: Busy.
Detailed schedule: (Never, never ask me how I am or what I'm up to if you don't want to know the TRUTH!)
May 1-3: Penguicon. Fly out Friday morning. Fly back Sunday evening. Between that, sell a lot of stuff, have fun and look HAWT.
May 10: Mother's Day. Probably have to at least call my mom, and then go to dinner with Rob's folks.
May 16:
May 21: Jonathan Coulton show @ Birchmere.
May 22-24: Balticon. Drive up Friday morning. Drive back Monday evening. Between those events, sell a lot of stuff, have fun and look HAWT. Since we have a room in the convention hotel - attempt to find the Jacuzzi and use it.
Days that are NOT weekends: Put in my 8 hours (and possibly more) getting all the reports done by (or before) the 15th...
Also: con packing/prep/unloading (including doing the financial stuff)
Also: grocery shopping, 2-3 4-load laundry trips.
Packages expected: My new $170 laptop from the internet. A bunch of Coke Codes from my Dad. Travel Mug set from my credit card "rewards" program.
Sometime in there, I might get some sleeping and eating done, too...

Date: 2009-05-03 02:52 am (UTC)I hope to see you at Marcon next year; I know last year was less than ideal with some of their policy changes, etc, but until we can get Conglom stabilised and/or have another viable con trip for you in this area, I'll just have to miss you.
