I'm having a little trouble uploading stuff, but tomorrow I should have at least one new live show for you at Bandcamp.
  • This weekend is InConJunction. Wild Mercy, Marc Gunn. I've got a mini-concert at 7:00 p.m. Friday, a panel on running a laptop studio at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, and another concert at 9:30 p.m. Saturday. If you haven't been there in awhile, it's become a very well-run, fun convention. If you have been there in awhile, it's at a new hotel this year -- check the web site.
  • For everyone who's wondering why I'm taking some small pleasure in the vast suckitude of The Last Airbender, here's the animated show's intro.
  • If you like that, but don't have time to watch right now, there's a season-one recap in two parts, which does in twelve minutes what M. Night couldn't do in 103.
  • If you DO have time to watch the show, you can do so at Anime Freak, Avatar Chapters.org, or any of a number of other sites. Don't miss the short Chibi cartoons.
  • Get your steampunk monkey on with the Monkey Color! Coloring Book.
Ready... set... Pimp Your Stuff!

Have fun at the con!

As for the self-promo, well, I do have a book coming out in five days :-) (Though apparently RED HOOD'S REVENGE has already been showing up at B&N and Borders stores.)

I have a SHOW! It's at Everett Market, located on the docks of Everett Marina, 1pm on 4TH OF JULY! I'll sing a lot originals and also a lot of Canadian traditionals mixed in, because, well, nobody'll know any better. HAPPY CANADA DAY EVERYBODY! ^_^ Sample tracks are here, tho' it'll be just me, not the whole band.

Also, the week after, on the 12th, I'll be playing Centennial Amphitheatre in Redmond, Oregon. I'll pimp that next week. -_^

And while I'm here, io9 has the funniest Last Airbender review I've seen yet.

- Luke & Carrie's Bad Rapport: Episode #018 – 100 Burritos
Luke describes 10 abandoned song ideas of his from the past 15 years,
As we discuss the future (Star Trek 5?), and the past (Zoolander?), we play music by MC Frontalot, Possible Oscar, and Futurama. We also give the rundown of comments on last episode’s special event, “U Pick Luke’s FuMP”! Did your favorite song parody idea get picked? You’ll have to listen to find out! As well as the usual News of the Stupid, Carrie talks about drunk freaks on the city bus, and Luke asks the philosophical question, “Is everyone else in the planet an idiot, or is it just me?” I think we all know the answer to that.
You can listen, download, and/or subscribe at http://badrapport.com

Allison "[livejournal.com profile] caprine" Lonsdale is releasing her very first CD, Live at Lestat's, this weekend at WesterCon 63/ConChord (http://www.westercon63.org/) in Pasadena, CA. If you know Allison's music, you'll love this album. She is probably the finest lyricist I've ever heard.

I am happy to say the friendly black kitty in GA did get adopted in time. She looks very happy to be in a loving home.

Today I found out that unless congress (especially the senate) gets off its collective duff, my unemployment will run out in about 5 weeks, with NO extensions. In the spirit of trying to raise some cash (for eventually finding a place to live for me and the 2 cats once I lose the house, paying bills, etc.) I have been selling stuff on craigslist.

Currently for sale a crackingly fantastic bicycle http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/bik/1803756638.html (bicycles)
a practically new airbed http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/fuo/1821732167.html
and a black & decker light duty chainsaw (not yet posted - completely unused - it belongs to the line of 18v rechargeable battery powered yard tools).

I have tons of other stuff, books, movies and a slew of German Lucky Luke, Asterix and assorted other comics. Also a practically mint vhs widescreen, thx mastered copy of the original Star Wars trilogy. You know, before all of the changes were made. It's a lovely set. D

If you are interested in anything I've mentioned, please send me a message on here. Thanks for considering.

I haven't. An earlier post linked to the Rotten Tomatoes aggregate review score, currently at 9% positive. We saw it coming.

Ah - I did see it. Never really trusted reviewers...

Movies of similar quality:
Clockstoppers
Thunderbirds
City of Ember

But it's better then any of those.

It could easily be better, but it didn't deserve either a 0% nor a 9% rating.
