It's 86frickin° in Ann Arbor. Heat index is, of course, more. At least the humidity has dropped somewhat, although it's not easy to tell. Much better than 10° and ten inches of snow, but I do kinda wish it had waited till at least mid-June before I had to crank the AC.

Cool. Last night's Glee was pretty cool.

Either way, discuss.

I hear you, Tom. It's 81o here in Boston and I think we're going to put the AC in the window tonight.

Give me the snow!

I'd take snow over heat any month of the year. It's easier to pile on more blankets at night than to take them off. There's a limit how little clothing you can wear before the police get involved.

I always get sick when the weather changes like this. The sudden heat makes me feel awful. I'd like to drive to Iowa for my brother's birthday over the 3-day weekend. Now I'm not sure if I'll be feeling well enough to drive.

There's this political cartoonist in the Chicago Sun Times who always does an anti-climate change panel whenever it gets a little cold out of season. But he never does one when it's hot out of season. Go figure.

Time for us to recreate this number, then?

(If you don't already own this version -- the London cast, 2002 -- of Kiss Me Kate, let me recommend that you order it ASAP. The only weak point in it comes during this sequence, when there's a bit of cognitive dissonance for baseball fans. Which is a heck of a recommendation for a stage show not about baseball.)

I had to go watch it just now. OMG OMG OMG.

I put up with the first half of the first season of Glee, mostly because it was a train wreck plot-wise and the music was interesting.

The last two eps? Have turned me into a fan.

May 10th, it was 49deg. May 14th, it was 84. Today, 93.

WTF? Even for Southern Indiana, that's still pretty extreme.

And the humidity's always bad in this area, but it's already at late-July levels. I step outside and just want to melt. After last year's rather mild and wet summer, I think this year's gonna be a horrible scorcher.

Of course, this is the summer that I took up hiking and biking again. D'oh!

Summer sucks. \it's 34c here with humidex factor. Hate humidity most of all, thank heaven's we have AC.

as for Glee last night, two thumbs up. But man that scene with Kurt, Finn and Burt was hard to watch. Big points for Burt for standing up for Kurt. But Kurt should have gotten a swat too for his passive aggresive stalking of Finn. Being a Lady Ga Ga fan I loved the Bad Romance sequence. Overall an excellent episode. Some really well done acting this time around.

My town hit 99 yesterday when I got home from work, today was 92 when I got home. Temp is going down 10-15 degrees tomorrow and over the long weekend. I don't like running my A/C this early in the year, the A/C has problems the longer I run it for.

I know, beautiful out, and my son's stupid late homework is making me drive to work most of the week instead of cycling.

Ah well, it looks like I might be able to ride Thurs/Fri. Not sure about Thurs though.

Meanwhile, here in central California, we're on track to have the latest first 90 degree day ever (June 6, set in 1971). We had cold rain last night, and new snow in the mountains. Last year by this time we'd had several days over 100.

It was 92 in North NJ yesterday (Wed). It's not even the first time this month that it's gotten up over 90. This is the second time this spring we've needed to turn on the central air. We had it on for 2 weeks earlier in the month.

It's been anomalously hot in Boston, as well.

We've already had 4 days over 90.

Humidity? Well, it's sorta like breathing the air tha comes out of the dishwasher when the dishes are done.

I effing hate living in NC.
