MarCon has been great so far. A good deal smaller this year, as was anticipated being (a) on a new weekend that's (b) a fairly important holiday for family gatherings 'n' such, but still decent. Not much in sales, but so many hugs from so many people I love. Kathy and Kim and Trace, Mary and Robin and Cat and Peter and Juanita and Mark and Bill and Erica and Luke and Chris and Mark and Roberta and Martha and Robert and and and, Larry and Sally and Ray and Brad and and and. Kate, with her beau and her kids Monica and Elanor (Jayzus the last time I saw her she was in swaddling and now she's just the kah-yootest thing, both of 'em are, and in a few years they're going to be breaking hearts). Conversations on anime (especially with Terwill), and steampunk (and omgwtfbbq!!!1!!one!! I have an idea I have to research), and gaming (I WILL NOT SPEND MONEY I DO NOT HAVE ANYWAY ON ALL THE THINGS BUT OH LOOK THERE'S THE ZOMBIE DICE EXPANSION AND THERE'S THE BRAND-NEW CARD GAME CALLED MISKATONIC SCHOOL FOR GIRLS AND DVDs AND AND AND --

(-- Sorry. Sorry. I'm better now).

Anyway. The morning panel on The Future Of Filk was fun and got a lot of us thinking. I hung out a lot of the afternoon and got my Shrimp Pad Thai, and I completely frickin' forgot about my 5:30 panel on Dr. Demento so they called me and I sped down there (thank FSM for the scooter this weekend -- or, more specifically, thank Kathy) and it was fun.

I also got drafted into MC'ing the Masquerade which was small but quite good (Best In Show was a huge robotic supervillain called BrainStorm) and Luke Ski and I provided halftime entertainment and we both went over really well. As to the open filks, I was only there about an hour both nights but they were fun as well, with one side of the room kinda lining up on the Trad Filkie side and me and Luke and Chris from Power Salad on the Whaa Haaaa Hoo Hoo side. Excellent energy, with more people Saturday than Friday.

My concert is at 11:30, and then Luke's, and then Chris's, and then there's the closing jam.

How's your Sunday?
