OVFF So Far
Oct. 27th, 2012 09:04 amI have no idea how the open filking was, because I went to bed early -- I really needed the rest, and I want to be up for tonight.
But.
First, of course a million hugs. Oh god, did I need those. Along with all the folks I see with some regularity -- and trust that I love you all, I'm not meaning to omit anyone but I could fill this page just with shout-outs, assume you're in there -- but there are so many people I haven't seen in so long -- Stevie Mac and Katy, Scott, Rand and Erin and Adam and his lady Joanne who I hadn't met, Amy and Vixy and Tony, Mark and Roberta and Harold and Liz and by god Myra, Mary and Elaine and Steve and James and Steve and Steve and Dene in a full-head knit Cthulhu hat, Lowell and Cheryl, Gary fer fuck's sake, Bill and Martha and Bill and Pat and Bill and Jo and Bill and my god the Ropers' girls are getting big, weren't they just in swaddling, and Persis and Spencer and and and and and and. Brain overload from so many wonderful folks.
And one of the several Steves helped get my stuff in the hotel room, and the rented scooter is making me both much less pain-ridden than I would be and the fuckin' drive-by terror of the con. It's great.
The Pegasus Nominations concert was a blast and a half. So much excellent music, as well as one of my songs. Ha! I kid. I want at least audio, and preferably video, of "Divine Irregularity" from last night. I'd wanted to shtick it up, but holy moses did that work.
And Stevie Mac's version of "Cheshire Kitten" was amazing, and Ookla's "Tiberius Rising" made me cry as it always does, and Juanita sounded golden with "Chess", and Roper and Dr. Mary did a particularly excellent version of "The Dolls", and Stevie Mac was on stage with Scott standing in for Amy, and Tom got everyone going with "Gone Filkin'", and Just Freakin' Yeah.
I hope your day is as good as mine is going to be.
