And a splendid time it was. Lots of music -- I had three concerts, and I think they all went pretty well. Many good folks -- I got in a lot of excellent conversation and hanging out and some really great hugs from several beautiful women. I got to hang out with both Steve Jackson and his lady Monica Stephens. I spent time with adorable kids, including Will, who apparently is pretty shy but he came right up and started strumming my guitar so I held chords for him so he was playing scary mood music and then I sang "500 Hats" and he gave me a big hug. And especially Beth, whose parents have called her "Destroyer of Worlds" for years so she thought I'd written that song about her, and it was her favorite until she heard "I Had A Shoggoth" this weekend. Dr. Osborn was there, and the Atlanta Radio Theater Company. And Toni K. Weisskopf said she liked my work, and my words.

Yeah.

Thanks to Randy and Diane, and Sally Kobee, and [profile] tcgtrf and [profile] ladycheron, and [personal profile] thatcrazycajun who I simply do not spend enough time with, and so very many other people -- what a great buncha folks. Thanks and extra hugs to B.J. and Beth Willinger, who I hadn't seen in years. Many, MANY thanks to Uncle Timmy, Kerry Gilley, Melvin, Brandy, and everybody on the staff. And special ultra extra mega-thanks to the remarkable, indispensable Derek Spraker, who just took care of everything I needed with grace and a smile and some frickin' fine barbecue.

And now, this week. A commission job to finish, my Mom comes in from Arizona tomorrow, I've got two nieces' birthdays coming up, and there's Art Fair to avoid.

How are you doin'?

I had to create an account so I could hop into here... Just wanted to say glad you got home safe, and yep... Beth now has 'I Had a Shoggoth' on her mp3 player (yep, a 5yr old with an mp3 player... next month is a cell phone I imagine), and keeps wanting me to sing her the 'mummy, werewolf, dracula song'.

Between you and Doc Osbourne, everyone seems to have come away having had a pretty great time for entertainment. (Well, beyond the normal con-hangover that is)

And lastly, yeah... she is cute, ain't she? (I was going to put in an obligatory "and I get to see her naked" comment, but I was afraid she'd see it. Though I think I just did. Oh bugger.)

[smak] Someone's gonna be sleeping on the couch for a couple days.... ;) Thanks again so much. Any chance you'll be at Dragon*Con? Or might we sneak you down to GAFilk?

Not Dragon... I'm hopping over to Phoenix for the DiscworldCon that weekend... but I might see you at GaFilk. Kerry's been trying to get me to tag along to it or OVFF for years now.

And thanks again for coming down. It's a helluva drive for a small con, but anytime you feel like coming back just let us know! ;-)

Without question, I will be back. :) And, actually, this year would be the year to start with OVFF -- it's four days rather than three, and the GOHs are all past gods of filk....

Sounds like a great time was had by all. Once again my plans to at least day-trip Liberty were scotched by real life. Ah well. Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Damn sorry you didn't make it. But I do intend to get back down there -- it was truly an excellent time.

Steve and Monica are terrific people. Steve still owes me a dinner. :-)

Not that it matters to anyone here, but I'm having eye surgery tomorrow. Happy joy.

Thank you. It should . . . but there is a high "squickability" factor.

I got sick Monday morning (1-3am) from food poisoning. Looks like I can't enjoy tuna fish mixed in with Mac & Cheese anymore. My cat was very supportive, staying with me the whole night purring away. I was a wreck yesterday with only 4 hours of spotty sleep. Feeling better now. This week I have to do some house cleaning and work for my RPG group. I also have to update http://filk.wikia.com with the new albums I got at Duckon.

And FYI I hear Spaceballs is coming out on Blu-Ray soon!

Aw man! So sorry, glad you're feeling better. I do precisely the same tuna-Mac-cheese thing myself. Was it a particular brand of either?

It was Velveeta shells n cheese with Starkiss lemon/pepper pouch tuna. I've had similar problems with pouch tuna before but never this bad. I could eat a tuna steak or tuna sushi without any problems. It always seems to be with pouch/canned tuna. (Worse with pouch, but my problem could be getting worse with age or the faster cooking time is doing something else.)

Well you can leave the squick out. We're more concerned whether or not you're all right when it's done.
