Regular readers of Girl Genius may remember something about Cheyenne Wright, their regular colorist, working on the first three issues (which were in glorious sepia-tone). They're done, and you can check 'em out now by going to the very beginning.

On a totally different comic note, what do you think of this (http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2010/06/29/unveiling-wonder-woman%E2%80%99s-new-costume-direction/), Tom? J. Michael Straczynski taking on writing for Wonder Woman, along with a costume redesign. I'm not really a comic geek (or even a fan, as I've read very few comics in the past), but I kinda like this look since it makes a lot of (physical) sense for a hero who is trying to blend in to her world.

I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not, but mainly because I am sick of comic writers in general tampering with characters just for the purpose of "shaking things up" without any deep meaning. That being said, the nature of the changes for Wonder Woman is at least *interesting*, and the costume I have to admit is not bad - not quite as sexy, but then I am of course biased (being a straight male who has loved and lusted after WW since he was 4 as she appears in "swimsuit armor").

The premise behind WW's new personal timeline and the new outfit reminds me actually of the recent trend in paranormal romance, with all those urban sexy street-smart heroines endowed with, or dealing with, magic. This seems at first glance like the "Anita Blake" version of Wonder Woman, which may or may not be a bad thing. How permanent this is is anyone's guess, as comic book writers change pretty quickly over the years.

Nice to see those early issues finally in color.

Incidentally,. on the comic page for November 11, 2002, WHAT is that vision Agatha has in the alley with that cyberpunk-ish looking woman in the portal? Did that ever come up again anywhere in the comic? Was that from some other work of Foglio's making a brief cameo?

Probably time portal--see this comic. Dunno who person is.

Did that ever come up again anywhere in the comic?

Not yet, but series isn't over. I remain optimistic that it will be explained before series' end.

Was that from some other work of Foglio's making a brief cameo?

Nothing I recognize.

Looks like a Geisterdamen.

And the cyberpunkish woman that is waaay in the start? My money's on the Other. Do remember that one memory was implanted into Agatha, the other into the body of a Clank.
