Just saw Inception this afternoon. Pretty cool, I thought, well acted and well written and very well directed (which it has to be for you to follow everything).

Feel free to talk about that, or any other movie you've seen lately (or are looking forward to).

Very much looking forward to Scott Pilgrim vs the World. Everything about it looks like it'll be awesome. Also want to see Despicable Me and Predators.

I really enjoyed Inception. Christopher Nolan is an ASSHOLE for that ending, though! I mean really, that was just mean. Worth it, worthy, but MEAN!!!

I like to think it was wobbling a bit. Similar to the way Sideways ended.

Spoilers?

How about the theory that Ariadne is the one doing an inception on Cobb, rather than Cobb doing an inception on Fischer

I think there are a number of inceptions going on at the same time. The movie itself is a kind of inception.

Inception's premise doesn't work for me. When I am awake I never have more than an instants doubt that I am awake. My dreams don't have the kind of detail that reality does. If I notice I'm dreaming I either enjoy the ride, wake up or take over. Inception was interesting but really didn't grab me.

The Sorcerers Apprentice was cool. The love story was awesome. No whining, no drama, no tragic pining. He wants to know how she feels, he asks her. She tells him. It was awesome. The greatest flirting line ever. "You'll want to step into my cage." But mainly its an adventure movie. Pretty good adventure movie.

I liked Inception a great deal. I'm really glad to see original movies out there with compelling stories that hold your interest, rather than remakes and rehashes. Nolan did an outstanding job.

Two other things that I enjoyed:
*Age-appropriate actresses. I'm so sick and tired of seeing aging actors with love interests that are young enough to be their children. And on a related note...

*I'm really glad Cobb and Ariadne didn't hook up, and that their relationship was non-romantic.

My Inception comments are here. Which also notes that Toy Story 3 is the other outstanding movie I've seen this year.

Of the other movies I've seen in recent months, I've enjoyed (in chronological order) How to Train Your Dragon, Iron Man 2, and Despicable Me.

Upcoming stuff? Judging by the trailers, Megamind is a big yawn, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World could be a whole lot of fun (and I really should try the comics one of these days), Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole has gorgeous animation, so it all depends on the quality of the script, Tangled looks like a weaker Disney entry, Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the best looking of the Narnia films, so, again, I hope the story holds up, Harry Potter 7.1 is, like Half Blood Prince a beautifully mounted adaptation of an imperfect book, and Tron Legacy hasn't given me nearly enough information to form an opinion on.

Gotta agree with Tom's assessment of Inception. Half a dozen very good acting jobs, and I think Mr. Nolan will in future be spoken of in the same tones as Messrs. Hitchcock and Spielberg.
