Premiered today at SDCC. Heavy spoilers, and, as the man says, "[it] is actually in 4D, because Jeff Bridges adds an extra dimension of awesomeness."

Let me tell you the Tron buzz around SDCC is palpable. We got to the CC at 7:00am and the was already nearly 1000 people in line for the 11:15am panel... Some had lined up the might before. The full size Recognizer and Lightcycle dominate part of the hall.

I am a child of the TRON age. TRON was my introduction to computer science fiction, and provides a backlight to my view of all animation to come after it. This is a must-see film for me.

My boyfriend and I will have to buy a pack of smokes after watching that. :)

Speaking of SDCC, did you see the pictures of
Fred Phelp's protest and the counter-protest? (http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2010/07/comic-con_reacts_to_fred_phelp.php)

Were the church women wearing upsidedown flags as skirts? Isn't that illegal and unAmerican or something?

Thankfully, no, flag desecration isn't actually illegal.

Irony time: Fred started out as a First Amendment defender.
