I definitely want a copy of this video. Ugh, so much pressure to just say the heck with it and go this year, despite having two other trips 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after the con (and no badge or room lined up). I like big cons and D*C overwhelms me. I didn't realize how much I would miss it by skipping it this year. I will make sure my plans include it again next year.

Ahh I can't wait to go! Also it's kinda weird that I have friends putting on a panel.

Awesome, but I wish I could just afford to go to Dragon Con instead!

I made my pilgrimage to geek mecca back in 'P8. It was worth the 9 hour drive. It isn't a feasible trip yet again this year but I have high hopes for next year.

I heard on the Ren Fest Podcast that the Brobdingnagian Bards will be doing a reunion concert at Dragoncon. I hope they will sell recordings since I can't make it.

Sigh.... Why doesn't anything this cool happen in Edmonton? I love it here and there is a bunch of cool stuff to do, but this looks pretty special.

This was an excellent video, thank you for posting it!

Will the full video be freely available, do you know?

Dunno. May be commercial, may be free, if I hear anything about its release I'll post it.

Comments on YouTube suggest it will originally be broadcast on Atlanta's PBS station, then released to other PBS stations and eventually made available for sale.

Any word on whether or not Fred Phelps, et al will try to do anything at DragonCon?

Nary a squeak, but darned if I'm not tempted to make my own protest sign anyway. Some choice lines from Warhammer 40K spring to mind, or I could do a nice quote from a Voltaire song in the WBC sign-making style....

If Phelps had any sense, he would have learned his lesson at Comic Con. Then again, if he had any sense, he wouldn't be the colossal douchebag that he is.

And I know I have seen the character in your profile pic, but at the moment, I can't remember where. Who is the character, and what series is she from?

That's Elektra from the Teen Force. Back in the very early eighties, she and her fellow heroes (Kid Komet and Moleculad) and a couple of short aliens who spoke no English would spend around ten or fifteen minutes each Saturday morning defending the galaxy from an evil winged gorilla type named Uglor. And then sometimes they'd team up with some of the other Space Stars to spend an extra segment defeating even more villainy.

I was a little under ten, and TOTALLY wanted to be a redheaded psionicist when I grew up. It was the first instance I can remember of the female party member being the equal in combat of any other adventurer in combat. She never healed anybody, provided "there, there"s, or waited around for the men to rescue her.

(I would pay good money for a watchable copy of all Teen Force appearances in the Space Stars cartoon series, if anybody with the right resources happens to be passing by!)

I was certain I had seen the character before. Now that you mention it, I remember watching Space Stars.

I just did a quick search for an image of Uglor. He seems to have possibly been an inspiration for Goldar from MMPR, doesn't he?

Thanks for posting this, Tom. I'm looking forward to getting the DVD. Maybe one year I'll make it to DragonCon. Not this year nor next, I fear. But one day!
