It is. I'm going to be shifting how I do stuff there and at TSO, because BC is finally going to start charging fees this month -- but the option of having FLAC, AAC and Ogg Vorbis for everyone Just Like That is too cool.
Incidentally, I'm listening to the stream on Bandcamp, and something is odd. Track 13 is your standard "I Want to Be Rich" setup to "Sheep Marketing Ploy," but then 14 is "Two Guys Kissin'" and 15 is "Sheep." Is that how you did it in concert, or did the tracks get out of order on Bandcamp?
Holy frijoles. I'm not sure what happened (and I was having problems with track order anyway), but "Two Guys Kissin" is supposed to be just before "Dead Potters", right near the end. I have no idea what happened.
...hate to make things go from bad to worse for you, but you have another problem--track 21 isn't "The Illuminati Polka," it's "Hamster Brain." So's track 22. Uploading problem, methinks.
Thank you for making this available. I look forward to seeing you in Raleigh in a couple of days. I have found local BBQ (a few blocks walk from the convention center and was recommended by my hotel) that is good.
Will you be putting any more single concert files up online, or only selling them as split concert recordings?
Well, here's my thinking: Bandcamp lets me easily sell in FLAC, AAC, etc. But they need the best audio possible, and they need relatively smaller files. And they'er about to start charging fees for getting stuff there, but I like the option for people to give me more than the list price (because a lot of people do, and many thanks to all of you).
So what I think I'm going to do is start breaking down the concert sets into individual tracks, put them on BC, and also sell the 320 Kbps MP3s on TSO for the same price (although not individual). That way, everybody can preview them on BC, MP3 buyers who want to make sure I get as much money as possible can get 'em from me, and purchasers of other formats can get 'em from BC (and I consider the fee a perfectly reasonable price to pay for giving my fans that option). It's a bit more work for me at the outset, but I feel it's worth it.
I'm not going to worry about the 192 Kbps single files, at least not yet. And, it's also possible I'll do a 192 Kbps single file of newer stuff for a buck less, or somethin'. Gotta think about that option.
