The hanging out turned great. I'm having trouble for some reason remembering what happened in what sequence, but I'm pretty sure [personal profile] jannyblue and [personal profile] scifantasy helped schlep my stuff out to the van. Said Yo to [personal profile] hughcasey again. Talked with Dan the Con Chair, got everything settled financially and thanked him for a fine weekend.

And then one of the Harry Potter online fans, [personal profile] cluegirl, came by with her S.O. I haven't seen her in a couple of years, so I sang her a couple of songs and we got silly for a bit and then they went off to see a concert but we promised to run into each other later.

Just shy of the dealer's room, and lo and behold Robert J. Sawyer came by and we fanboy'd each other -- we don't see each other often, but we'll be at a total of three cons (this, FenCon, and MillenniCon) between now and next spring.

Went to the dealer's room, hung out with [personal profile] jannyblue and [profile] devospice. Got moving just before 2:00, and there was [personal profile] cluegirl again, so I called Anne and said, "I am not like other men. I have a Clue." And handed off the phone. It was fun.

Down to the lobby. Again hanging for a bit, which was great because [personal profile] fabricdragon came by and we talked for a while. Then [profile] partiallyclips came along, and we both realized we were deathly hungry, so we went around the corner to the small Italian restaurant that you actually have to cross the state line to get to, and had a pretty damn good ham-pepperoni-mushroom pizza.

And then I dropped Rob off and hit the road.

Problems were, [a] I was still really, really tired from last night and [b] it was raining. It started raining harder the further I got onto the I-91, and then on I-90 throw in some fog and a lot of traffic and a few nasty delays (in the eastbound lanes, but gawkers, y'know) and none of it ever really let up and about 7:00 I said I Don't Need To Do This To Myself.

So here I am in an EconoLodge along the way, and I'll get home sometime tomorrow.

Thank you, Pi-Con. That was fun.

How's your weekend turned out, or how's the week ahead look?

You saw how part of my weekend turned out. Smart move on the travel and staying overnight.

As for the Italian place, I had heard about that place, but never did get in that direction.

The wedding I attended was fun. A little different from what I expected, but fun.

As for my evening tonight, its not long distance, but it is tech support for Dad. (Supporting him from the next computer over.)

Week ahead promises a lot of busy. That will be the case for the next four months or so.

Weekend was quite fine as the wedding was really a lot of fun. It was small, which makes it a lot easier to cope with. I only wish I had a videocam to use for blackmailing a couple of friends. And if you were wondering where Harold Stein got off to, he came back early for the wedding. There was a table of fannish insider types - including Lunacon's co-chair couple. Cool.

Did I capture the right blackmail material with my camera? :) It was a fun wedding and definately worth missing a day of convention for. (6Pi-Con will be next year. The wedding was a once in a lifetime event and worth it!)

Quiet Sunday after a nice day, including a delightful picnic, yesterday.
I am hoping that the weather leaves my tv antenna in peace (stupid digital transmission issues!), so that I can watch Inspector Lewis. I know it's a repeat, but I like the show.

For me, it was a quiet rainy sunday. I'm in the process of putting final touches on your video. Hopefully, I'll have it posted by tomorrow afternoon. Here's hoping you have a safe trip!

Not bad. Got a little sick from food poisoning and work stress on Friday, but most of it cleared up by Saturday (with the help of a nap) in time for the DuPage SF party. (One of my fellow posters shares my concern about how there's little SF being talked about at these parties.) Jan loaned me some of her filk CDs and tapes. Sunday my Pulp gaming group finally got a game in. I got some of my chores done early so I have time now. Looking forward to getting some things straightened out at work.

I'm also working on the new DucKon site. But I got sick of VS 2010 Express so I've been trying to install 2008 like I do at work. That's a bit frustrating right now.

Weekend was good. Saw old friends, took girls swimming and hiking at Falls of the Ohio. Sore, tired, happy.

I FINALLY got VS 2008 installed so my home system is like my work system. (It helps I no longer have to "shift gears" between working on home projects and work projects. I hope to have the new DucKon site up in a few weeks.

Spent the day shopping with Mom at an outdoor craft festival. Much fun, bought some cool things, enjoyed just shopping instead of actually running a booth as we did for 30(!!) years.

Tomorrow, helping my Other Mother (that phrase sounded a lot better before Neil Gaiman got his hands on it...) figure out her new camera and the intricacies of Craigslist... which means I also get to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] rothesis (insert Kermit-the-Frog arm waving here!)

Much quiet fun; gave away a bunch of stuff to a thrift store that sorely needed to be given away; ended up buying a bunch of different books at said thrift store (for very cheap); read the first four books of _A Series of Unfortunate Events_ and decided not to read the rest after reading the Wikipedia synopses of them; saw the movie "A Fish Called Wanda" for the first time ever and thought it was hysterical; and the rest I think I'll keep to myself. :-)

Pi-Con was fun, in no small part because of some guy named Smith :-)

We left early Sunday after swimming for about an hour, and drove west on I-84, then fiddled around a bit until we found the cottage where my family's spending the week while I work a workweek. I'll join them on Friday for the weekend. I hope they get SOME sunshine, at least.

As per my previous reply, I had a good weekend. Trip to Cherokee, NC for a wedding. Mother Nature tried to rain it out, but the rain stopped an hour before the ceremony time so it was held on time. Good thing I was the last to leave the motel where everyone was staying at, someone forgot to come and pick-up the bride (so she came with me to the wedding, not quite as originally planned). I wonder if I can add "wedding DJ" to my resume when I played 4 songs during the ceremony and a whopping 5 songs during the reception before everyone took off much earlier than expected.

Yeah, I would call that a good weekend, even though I missed Pi-Con.

It was great getting to meet you! And I'm really glad you had time to sing for us. (And to ping your sweetie so we could chat, too.)
