Back from Dragon*Con
Sep. 5th, 2006 12:54 pmAnd that's a wrap on another one. Many, many thanks to everyone involved -- Teri Wachowiak (her first year in charge of filking, and she did a superb job), Pat Henry, Brenda Tackett, Mischa Hess, Paul Cashman, the sound guys at the Saturday night set, just ever-damn-body with the con. Thanks to the very nice folks who came to my concerts and to my table (way, way too many to list here, although I have to mention Peter Popovich of Oasis). Thanks to
lukeski and
wormquartet and
devospice and Throwing Toasters and the Boogie Knights and the Brobdingnagian Bards and Heather Alexander and all the rest of the folk/comedy music telent. Thanks to Phil Foglio and John Lotshaw and Bill Holbrook.
Yeah.
So, what stories do you have to tell of this weekend, Dragon*Con-related or not? And how's the rest of the week looking?
Yeah.

I'm still not to the end of Season One yet, but I know that you're all waiting for the beginning of Season Three. Well, SciFi.com has ten web episodes, every Tuesday and Thursday -- starting today -- to bridge the gap between Seasons Two and Three.
I'm not even gonna try to keep this thread spoiler-free. Freak out, gang. :)

The point behind this is so blatant and so disgusting that I want to smack somebody upside the head.
In a nutshell: ABC is going to air a "docudrama" about the events leading up to September 11, 2001. This made-for misrepresents the 9/11 Commission Report, makes the Bush Administration look way more competent than they actually proved to be, and -- most tellingly, most importantly, most damningly -- falsely blames Bill Clinton for letting Osama bin Laden get away.
So, y'see, Chimpy is really a big fuckin' hero. It's all Clinton.
I almost want to bypass the unspeakable hypocrisy, the blatant attempt at creating political cover out of whole cloth, the reeking desperation of their trying to rewrite reality so their incompetent moron of a front man looks like something other than an incompetent moron, and just laugh at the pathological hatred of a man six years out of office.
If you have friends or family members who hear about this, tell them: It's a pack of lies. It's wrong, top to bottom, trying to throw the blame on Bill Clinton for things that happened on Bush's watch, things that Clinton tried to warn them about, things they wouldn't listen to because he was Bill Clinton.
I swear to Cthulhu, if these shitheads spent a tenth of the time they spend propagandizing in actual governing instead, things would be much better.
Update: Rep. Louise Slaughter weighs in.
