Wusik is having an extreme group buy. Basically, you kick in $1.95. If they get 150,000 buy-ins (they explain the math, and it is plausible, if not necessarily likely) between now and the end of the year... that's it. You get Wusikstation V3 (Windows version) and 2 GB of samples, a $100 value, for a buck ninety-five. Even if they don't make it, they promise a good discount.

And there's a new free program called Sonic Visualizer, for studying music files instead of just listening to them. Looks as if it has lots of potential.

Farewell, Mr. Wizard

Great sadness. Don Herbert, better known as Mr. Wizard, has passed away at the age of 89. A lot of us started really learning science from that guy.
