Archon/NASFiC
Aug. 4th, 2007 10:54 pmHaving a good time so far. A few bumps, but nothing insurmountable. Good concert, I thought, with a great audience and a gracious extra few minutes from Wild Mercy to do "Rocket Ride". They were also really on today. The bardic last night, with Blind Lemming Chiffon and Mary Crowell, also was lots of fun. I hadn't really heard Mary do her songs before -- almost always accompanying other people up to this point -- and she's really really good.
Lots of other nice people today, including
shsilver,
singlemaltsilk, Peter S. Beagle and his business guy Connor, Ken the roadie, etc., etc., etc., etc. Briefly (very briefly) met Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett, gave them CDs and told them they have to decide who gets what. Nice chances to just hang out with Jamie Hanak, Barry Childs-Helton, Deb and Jen (who also are Munchkin addicts). Les got to a couple panels she enjoyed. Lots of great hall costumers, and a huge frickin' line for the masquerade. Seriously, I think about two thousand people. We got out of there and met one of my old mortgage customers, Marian, and her son Sean, for BBQ at Bandana's -- decent enough -- and spent a couple of hours talking about ever-damn-thing.
All in all, quite a good day. Here's hoping tomorrow is the lovely fresh cherry on top of this pretty fine banana split.
And how's your weekend going?
