KVR (your indispensable one-stop shop for all music software info) alerts us that E-MU Systems, in advance of their releasing the next generation of their music modules, is giving away the Proteus VX module and the Composer Bank of presets. You have to sign up for their e-mail list.

Sadly, it's PC only, but there are many other interesting listings, including new versions of Reaper(PC/PC64-bit/Mac) and Rosegarden (Linux). If you make music with your computer and you don't check out KVR, you're definitely missing stuff.

Anything cool on your music horizon?

ETA: Apologies to anyone who wasted some bandwidth and downloaded the Proteus and the 7 MB .PDF manual, which is part of the main program's frickin' archive. Thanks for telling us that, E-MU.

The magic number is 353.

That is what I weigh now, rather than 395.

The magic word is "stairs".

That's what I went up and down six times today -- three up to the fourth (a landing), three down to the floor, six times, no problem at all. Okay, something of a problem, I mean, I need the handrails, and it's tiring. But I could've done it a dozen times or more.

I am now close to the point where the only limiting factor is my endurance.

And Les brought me my new walker, and some Tim Horton's for lunch, and my roomie has gone home so I am (for the moment) by myself in the room which means I don't have to listen to Law and Order and Charmed on TNT all day, and they're about to make popcorn for the afternoon movie, and it's a fuckin' lovely day.

How's by you?

If you happen to go to my main LJ page, you'll notice I've revised the long-out-of-kilter tour dates. I'll do the same for the main site and the MySpace site this weekend.

If I'm up and moving like this less than two months after the accident, doing the house concert is gonna be a snap. And ConClave, OVFF, and Windy are absolute, set in stone, gonna be there baybeh.

Any other fall/winter cons I should look into? I'm damn sure thinking of GAFilk again, I'm already scheduled for ChattaCon (the same weekend as ConFusion, sorry), and a couple of different Florida cons have caught my attention. (Again, sorry, not ConFlikt. They actually asked me, and I thought about it hard, but it would've involved driving from ChattaCon across country and up the coast in a hard travel week, and I just didn't know if I could guarantee it. But I will get up there, oh yes I will.)
