The Grammys

Last night was the awards ceremony for the 2011 Grammys. Here's a list of the winners -- did your favorites win, lose, or do you not care because they're handing the damn things out like half price chocolate?

Satchel's BBQ

New place in Ann Arbor, just behind the Verizon store next to Whole Foods on Washtenaw. markbernstein reminded me of them today, when he called to say they were already open. So I went over there.

Very friendly little place, with long tables for seating. Rather than the usual blues, they were playing bluegrass.

I forgot to get sauces, which didn't matter, because the pulled pork was very good. The baked beans were a little spicier than I like, but full of flavor (and meat). The "beans and rice" turned out to be just rice, but that worked out because I used it to temper the baked beans. The cornbread was not quite Southern, but close -- much closer than the cake-style Jiffy stuff we're used to this far north.

Can't wait to try the ribs. :)
