And So It Begins

Dragon*Con officially starts today, but the joint was hoppin' when I got here at 1:15 yesterday. Getting situated took a little bit of running around, but it happened (many thanks to Kat Haines, the Info Booth gang at the Sheraton, and especially Robert Dennis), and all is golden. Today, I get to set up my table (same one as last year, if you were here), and I think I will do that after my morning stuff.

Morning stuff! I has a schedule. All events are at the Hyatt:

• Fri 11:30 a.m. - What Is Filk? (Baker)
• Fri 1:00 p.m. - Meet and Greet (Baker)
• Fri 7:00 p.m. - Filk Concert Extravaganza! (Int'l N)
• Fri 10:00 p.m. - Filk and Cookies (Baker)
• Sat 7:00 p.m. - Set at the Awards Banquet (Regency VI-VII)
• Sat 10:00 p.m. - Concert (Baker)
• Sun 11:00 a.m. - Concert (Concourse)
• Sun 10:00 p.m. - Concert (Baker)

I know thatcrazycajun is lurking about, and I'll try to contact him today, although the cell phone connectivity is El Sucko, which is why I mention it here, Matt. ;) Who else is gonna be around today?

Leslie Fish arrived yesterday evening and is supposed to be in the 11:30 panel with you today. Her schedule sort of sounds similar to yours at least for today, so if you're able, could you help her between the What is Filk and the 7PM thingie?

Also, I'll try calling Matt and let him know to contact you (I'm at work right now).

And no, I will not be at Dragon*Con. I won't re-link the reasons (some of which have to do with the way you were treated while I was in Japan, some of which have to do with "The Mark of Gideon" episode of classic Trek). Instead, I'll be here (http://www.appalachiancelticconnection.org), in the fresh air.

Sadly, I won't be there except in spirit. I have a craft room that MUST be put in order (to say nothing of the clutter that's accumulated in the rest of the house...though the den at least is mostly in order now).
