  • Sorry this is late in the day. The first slot should explain the reason: my dentist, Ray Tonks.
  • Earlier in the week, [profile] vixyish alerted me to the plight of [profile] nieceytee, who is trying to keep her house.
  • Kontakt users: Another person who needs help is John Reid, a longtime MS sufferer and dear friend of Wavelore. To help him, they've got a deal going till 12/01/2010: Kick in fifty bucks, Mr. Reid gets 75%, and you get Wavelore's entire Kontakt library (demos here).
  • IK Multimedia has created SampleTank FREE, which comes with 500 MB of sounds and can use any SampleTank library out there. Requires creating a free account.

Two new songs this week - or, at least, you know, final recordings for the CD:
  • Cascadia (How I have Missed You) is this album's instrumental, on solo Irish bouzouki. (And if you have no idea what that is, the sound is... kind of similar to a 12-string acoustic guitar, but different.) It's about rain and forest and mountains and missing all of them. 403 over on Dreamwidth said it sounded like the Snohomish Pass through the mountains, in the rain. That's pretty much spot on.
  • When You Leave is about the difficulty of getting out of a bad situation; about the ability of that bad situation to reach further than you think; and it’s about the help and sympathy you don’t get when you make your break for it. It’s about the retribution you might inspire, the resentment of those who choose to stay behind, the nightmares that may follow you – and a warning not to get too comfortable too soon, because you might not be as far out of range as you hope you are. Think of it as an ode to PTSD and hypervigilance.
Enjoy.

I've signal-boosted the call from nieceytee. I thought the name was familiar, and it is - she's the one who put out a call on behalf of her neighbor so that *she* didn't get evicted and lose her kid.

I've started a shop on Etsy. There are only a few things there right now, but I'll add more this weekend.
