OVFF So Far
Oct. 23rd, 2010 10:31 amMan oh man, did I hug a lot of beautiful women yesterday.
I also sang a song at the Pegasus concert, and laughed with many friends, and got my copy of Lois McMaster Bujold's new book Cryoburn, and and and... but, man oh man, did I hug a lot of beautiful women yesterday.
And Steve and Katy are here, and Will, and Bill and Brenda, and Harold, and Allison, Jodi, and Debbie, and the other Allison, and Bill of course, and Janny and Martha and Roberta (and Mark) and Vixy and Tony and Amy and s00j and Erica and Mary and Dr. Mary (oh my lord that dress) and Merav (oh my lord that dress, her "Morticia" dress [bites knuckle]) and Rand and Erin, and I'll see Janet and Cync today, and and and.
By the way, my noon panel today with s00j has been rescheduled for tomorrow. I put my foot down, and said no way am I missing Mitch and TJ's concert. I am also not missing the Bedlam Bards, or s00j, or UT, or or or.
The Pegasus concert, at least the first half, was excellent. Everyone was very good; Bill Roper and Dr. Mary Crowell were exceptional. Did I mention her dress? And Merav's? Damn.
A bit after that, I bailed. I was utterly exhausted; long day, root canal yesterday. I will do everything I can to take a nap today, 'cause I want a long, long filk tonight. :)
(A couple of interesting things. Everyone swears I have lost weight. I have not, but if I look a little more solid, hey. And, my left wrist -- the one that I sprained awhile back -- has been bugging me a lot more this week. Fortunately, the guitaring position isn't affected. But it's been hurting pretty steadily. Ibuprofen is definitely my friend.)
So how's by you...?

Date: 2010-10-23 04:59 pm (UTC)On the other hand, I'm liking the work, it's a good thing to have on my resume for when I resume looking for full time permanent work, and it's a better fit for how my brain works than what I have been doing, which means I have more creative resources left at the end of the work day than I did at my previous job, which is a very good thing.
And it's better than last year, when I missed OVFF due to having been unemployed since January, with no end in sight, and was simply afraid to spend the money.

Date: 2010-10-23 05:51 pm (UTC)There is an ointment that I use (I'm not up to making it for sale yet) that is a combination of olive oil. marjoram, yarrow, vitamin E, beeswax and camphor that is amazingly helpful for sore joints and muscles.
Also (and more available to you) eucalyptis oil is considered very helpful for sore or injured joints. Do NOT, however, use the Essential oil because that would burn your skin.

Date: 2010-10-23 07:29 pm (UTC)Lily's off at the library--may take her out for ice cream when she gets back, then going to try to get my bard to eleventh level. DDO's just introduced half-elves, half-orcs, and a lot of new monsters (including medusas and a bunch of new types of devils).

Date: 2010-10-23 08:45 pm (UTC)It did occur to me that a side affect of the "being let go" would be I'd have time to go to OVFF, but ... adding in more optional expenses right now isn't exactly a great idea. Le sigh.

Heh. I started getting that when I began exercising more. Hadn't lost weight, but I was probably more "at home" in my bod, as it were, and it showed. Probably better posture, too.
