I am so glad I got our panel rescheduled.

Mitch and TJ's concert was great fun. I cried during "Lullaby For A Weary World". (Really good idea to close with that, what could follow?) Then I went out in the halls for awhile. I was not feeling great -- one of my occasional mystery bouts of tachycardia, and it was going on long enough that I was getting nervous. Many thanks to Kathleen, Judith, and Bill for easing me out of it and calming me down.

Then it was s00j's concert, superb as usual. And then the Bedlam Bards, muchly fun. And then I snuck out, got some dunch, and went back to the Motel 6 for a nap.

Bad news: Missed UT's concert. Sigh. I'll ask Harold for some audio. Missed Pegasus Award ceremony. As previously posted, congrats to all the winners.

Good news: Woke up around 9:30, ready to sing for awhile.

I went back to the hotel, and ran into Becca, who has been wanting to interview me for a dissertation project or somesuch. We went into the not-being-used Kid Space, and did the interview. Then I wandered about, looking for a sing with room, and found one in the main room. Very pleasant -- Dene from Ghost Of A Rose, Howard, Robin and Cat eventually, a few other folks. The lovely Allison, with whom I hung out and hugged a lot. I did a few songs, and left about two hours later.

I ended up wedging myself into the room with Mitch and TJ, Vixy and Tony, Batya, Rand and Erin, Mark after a fashion, folks like that. Mitch and TJ had heard "Hey, It's Can(n)on", but not "I Had A Shoggoth". Hee. With Tony playing back-up, Will Frank did "When I Was A Boy", and oh my FSM were we abusing him. "Back when Fortran was not even threetran." "You had threes!?" Then Mark did the Dorsai version, which I had not heard, and then Tony did Moonwulf's porno version....

Very fun.

I snuck out of there around 3:00 a.m., and went to one of the nearby benches to cuddle and talk with Cync, who I just don't see enough of these days. Other nice folks kept coming up with hugs and talk and silly and yeah. And I finally got out of there just before 4:00 a.m., came back to the room, and actually got a bit of sleep.

Now I have to get it together, go back, maybe do a bit of work with Toyboat, do my panel with s00j, hang out for awhile, and decide if I'm going to stay over one more night. Very nice weekend.

You?

Dorsai version of When I Was A Boy? Somebody got lyrics??

My favorite stunt to the original is to can the lights when you get to "Primooooooordial darkness" (and if the singer is on his toes, he says, "smartalec kids"... :)

Music for me yesterday was quite different than filk... a friend was out for the Sweet Adelines International Festival... we had a lovely brekkie just now, and she's back off to Palm Beach... sounds like you're having a LOVELY time. One of these days I should do OVFF, just the once, just for giggles...

That's not abuse--that's reinforcement. *grin*

I will speak with Fuzzyvanman (who is in charge of sound) about getting you the recording while here at the con. Catch me later (IE - dead dog)

finding out that I ended up having to replace all four tires on my sport cute after bringing my youngest nephew at humongous, completely-covered-be-pepperoni pizza that I promised him. $359 for 4 new tires after $7.13 for something like an 18" pepperoni pizza for my nephew.

The tires were replaced after I discovered that one of them had picked up a screw in it on the way home from work Friday.

Oh, and when I ended up waking up at 4:45 on Saturday, I went into work and spent 2 hours doing a project my boss needed ASAP but didn't herself complete until late Friday night.

Me?

Ignoring how bummed I remain that I am not there...

Went into Manhattan, hit the library, walked to a farmer's market, and enjoyed the weather and the park. Have a Bullwinkle DVD and Mamet's House of Games to watch later if I choose.

Well I ordered a programming book for work on the 16th. That same employer fired me on Friday and by then it was too late to cancel the order. That order arrived today (took 24 hours from warehouse to doorstep). The cool thing is that I shipped with Amazon's free shipping option and they delivered on Sunday.

Tachycardia...

I'm a heavy lady, and I get sporadic arrhthmia too, have for decades, but never could get it captured on a halter test. Then over last winter my belly got hard and ridged for some unknown reason. When I saw my VA doc in march he sent me to a VA hospital. They told me I had congestive heart failure, which led to obestity hypoventilation (or, more colorfully, Pickwickian Syndrome, from a Charles Dickens character). Basically heavy people don't exhale deeply enough, which causes CO2 to accumulate which cause water to be retained and cognition problems.

I spent over 3 months there, lost 100lbs of water retention, and gained a shiny new Tracheostomy (which is just *loads* of fun... NOT). Now that I'm home, I have to be on a bipap machine every night, not just for apnea but for pressure support to assist that not-exhaling-enough problem.

I know you're of size, and you're on a cpap machine at night, and now I learn you get arrhthmic? I'm worried. Maybe you can ask your medicos about congestive heart failure (which just means your heart isn't doing all it should to move enough blood around to keep up with the body's needs) and obesity hypoventilation syndrome? I can trace back the symptoms they finally dealt with at the hospital to stuff I'd had since the 80s, so it can go a long time before coming to a head and getting properly diagnosed.

Just out of curiosity, are you taking chromium picolinate? That can cause irregular heartbeat in some people. It did for me. Took nearly a year to flush it out of my system.
