My friend Timothy is going to be starting a podcast at the end of September that he's written, produced, and directed. It's called The Endless Night, and it's the story of a down-on-his-luck space pirate captain and his rag-tag crew, and the dangers he drags them into.

He's got two official teasers up at An Art Lawful Productions (http://www.anartlawful.libsyn.com/), along with some concept art for their spaceship and one of the main characters. The Prologue will be released at the end of August, and then there will be an episode released at the beginning of every month for the next year or so.

It's really a lot of fun; check it out!

Not sure if it counts as art, but does anyone remember the old kids show, You Can't Do that On Television? I found out Les Lye (the actor who played every adult male role in the show's 10 years) passed away a few weeks ago. I'm watching some episodes I downloaded now. It was a very funny show. The kind they don't make anymore.

Book View Cafe (www.bookviewcafe.com) has got a bunch of new member authors: Seanan McGuire, musician and now YA author extraordinare, NYT Bestseller Sarah Smith, and LJ's own Steven Piziks.

We are also going to be putting out our first original fiction project: THE SHADOW CONSPIRACY will be a collection of original steampunk stories in a shared universe. Authors include, well, Me, Judy Tarr, Jennifer Stevenson, the aforementioned Steven Piziks, Sarah Smith, Seanan McGuire, Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff, and K.E. Kimbriel, among others. If you want to hear more about it you can go to www.bookviewcafe.com, or check out the blog: http://blog.bookviewcafe.com/ where we will be posting updates on a regular basis. I've already turned my story in. Any day you spend writing about how Charles Babbage gets snatched off the deck of a steam ship by a dripping, black tentacle is a good day.

Oh, and in other news, BITTER ANGELS by CL Anderson is coming out this month. It's kind of John LeCarre in space, and is going to be released on Aug 25, but is available now for the pre-order thing:

If you like stuff by Sarah Zettel, or if you like space opera, you should check it out.

Thanks for the heads up. I added it to the filk wiki at http://filk.wikia.com/wiki/Coffee,_Computers,_and_Song

If there's anything you'd like to add, go ahead. Or let me know and I'll put it up for you.

Many thanks, and thanks for the link -- I don't think I knew about the filk wiki.

No problem. I've sort of taken over the wiki since the creators abandoned it. I've already added my collection to the wiki and update it when I get new filk CDs at conventions. But there are many I don't have, mostly the older ones. If you want to add yours, I encourage you to do so. The more complete we can get this wiki, the better it will be.

I'm thinking about adding a Biography section to the wiki where more information about the artist can be provided instead of their discographies. What I don't know if it's permissible to add links to online stores. Otherwise I would happily add a link to CD Baby for your CD.

When I get the chance, I plan to scan in the covers to my filk CDs and tapes and add them to their pages. There are copyright issues so would it be OK to post the cover of CC&S there?

At Worldcon, I still have (at 11pm, sat night) 3 copies of the Duckon 2009 CDs of Seanan and Vixy & Tony remaining. (Thanks Jan!)

The only other new project I have released recently is Roberta Rogow's 3rd CD - One Filk Two Filk Old Filk New Filk. Song list, I think is in my LJ from a month ago.

Oh the Duckon 2009 CDs are ready? Hooray! I still need to get mine (I know the people who make it so getting one shouldn't be a problem). Where can I get a copy of Roberta Rogow's CDs?

I sold out of the Duckon CDs last night. As for Roberta's 3rd CD (I still have copies of CD #2 which is mentioned on my web page), I can arrange to send you a copy or you can get the CD from Roberta directly (if you see her at a con) or Tales From The White Hart (filk dealer.) Kathy is reachable at talwhi at Earthlink dot com.

My email is harold at panix dot com. (This is not my paypal address.)

The OWL Network (which Tom introduced us to some months back and been having fun int he forums ever since) is launching a program for playing and making Choose Your Own Adventure games but with RPG elements so you can make your character and take them through the stories. The rough beta version of the authoring program is up:

http://www.boundlessstories.com/authors/

They plan to add the character-creation, tasks, and all of that other RPG stuff soon, but this is to get it started. All the info is here, and it should be fun to play once it gets started, especially since anyone can make an adventure.

And if you're interested in reading more about OWL: http://www.otherworldsandlands.com/index.html

Why am I not surprised that you know Spencer and Persis? :) I'm in fandom thanks to them: my first convention, I was babysitting Talis while they did recordings. She was two, then.
