The thing I like about these (and there are more) is that even when the squirrels know there's no food at the end they still enjoy running through the obstacles.

In England there was (might still be) a brief fad of constructing longer and more complex squirrel obstacle courses like this, where you start off with something simple then add another segment when the squirrel has gotten used to it. See how far and inventive you can go before the squirrels decide it's too much work for a handful of nuts.

OH! Thanks for finding that! I remember seeing it on some kind of special on TV years back. It had started off as barriers to keep squirrels away from the bird feeder and ended up as that. There was a nice series of trial and error on the squirrel's part as it learned all of the obstacles. I think my favorite was watching it fall off of the spinning bits before it learned it had to make a mad dash across.
