New Year's Eve

I may post later today; I certainly will post tomorrow. But, right now, this is to all of my friends and fans who follow me here: Thank you for everything, and I love you. My life, my music, everything would be so much poorer without you. If you go anywhere tonight or tomorrow to celebrate, please be careful in your travels, and have fun.

Let's bid a not-so-fond farewell to 2010, and here's hoping that 2011 is an improvement, or at least somewhat gentler.

I can't complain too much about 2010 - I managed to finish up the required coursework for my long-delayed bachelor's degree this last fall. On the other hand, I did end up seeing the inside of a hospital last April. So, as always, it's been a year of extremes.

Let's all hope for an improved 2011...

Dude, it didn't massively suck. We started with YOU at Conflikt (smash the friggin' faeries! LOL) and me a new motorbike, I went on to a long summer building and rebuilding relationships, and we ended with finally-hopefully killing DADT and me with a new job.

But, yes. Here's to a better year. I want to rebuild a few more things, save some serious dough, share some more, and ... generally have it be a better year.

2010, while not really good, was quite a bit better than most of the previous decade (no cancer, no hit-by-car, no major new trauma, new social isolation, or other new horribles; I got the album finished) - so really, I'm fairly fond of it! By recent standards, anyway. Hopefully 2011 will continue that slow curve up.

Thanks Tom! I'll be happy when this year is over. 2010 sucked for me. Two bad jobs, fights with friends, politics, ugh I'll be glad when this year is over. Here's hoping 2011 will be better.

Today was good. My RPG group did an earlier session to avoid the drunks on the road (and possible icy roads too) and it lasted over 7 hours including chatter and a dinner break. We finished the fantasy story arc (which was much better than normal). Most of it was this massive fight against a powerful undead. My minstral (mostly non-combat) suggested negotiation since we were getting our asses kicked and it worked! We got to escape with our lives. It's possible we MIGHT have one but the odds were against us. The dice would have had to suddenly start rolling in our favor in a big way for us to win. Sometimes violence is not the only way.
