Ann Cecil Passes Away

Great sadness -- we've lost one of the family. Ann Cecil, the goddess of Pittsburgh fandom, has passed away after a battle with cancer. mrgoodwraith has details. Condolences, hugs and gentle songs to her friends and family. She was a great lady, and she will be missed.

Oh man,

I've never met her, but it's always sad when one of the extended family passes. I'm sure she has a lot of friends who will morn her.

That's the great thing about fandom, you're friends with people you only see a few times a year or never met at all.

Oh, man. So sorry to hear that. We happily listened to her in filk rooms past, sometimes sang with her, and enjoyed her gentle irony.

Indeed, sad to hear.
I enjoyed her coming around to the Michigan conventions (more in the late 80's and 90's), but did see her here relativly recently in the 00's.

I met her a long time ago, when I was in college, and she was always so nice. She'll be missed.
