Haven't watched it, and it hasn't been uploaded yet. When it is, I will. Meantime, go wild.

Hated how they did the opening.

Wolfgang Puck had some good sound bites. I still hate his mass-market overpriced pizzas though.

And one of the cheftestants is a local.

I actually like the uncured pepperoni quite a lot. I will agree it's too expensive, but Busch's has them on sale frequently.

Still no upload (at Demonoid). Equally anxiously awaiting tomorrow's upload of the Top Chef: SuperDuper Masters final. Preferred order of finish: Rick Bayless, Hubert Keller, Michael Ch-that's pronounced like "K" and I AM The Chef-iarello.

This being Las Vegas, I kind of expect at least one serious pastry challenge this season, but let's let it unfold.

Okay. First impressions: don't much like the new opening; with luck, that's only for the first ep, for introductions.

High-stakes Quickfires aren't necessarily a bad idea; let's see how they're handled. This first one was worth a LOT of $. It was a good move, holding on to immunity rather than trading it for a chance to compete for those bucks :-)

I can already see a few chefs I'm rooting for, and one that I'm clearly rooting against. Michael has set himself up as the villain; it's because of the misogyny and nastiness that MAKE him the villain that I dislike him -- but he also clearly has talent. Funny how the villains often do.

The winning dish looked excellent, and the loser was predictable, given an understanding of how TC's judging usually goes. It might have been the other dish -- the too-complex one that failed -- that went, but ultimately, the one that got called "a midnight special at a vegan bar" is an unsurprising loser.

Oh, and Dear Bravo: "Next week Top Chef moves to its normal time." Please note the lack of apostrophe in "its". I can recommend you several excellent proofreaders who'll work cheaply :-)

No, that's correct. It's possessive, so no apostrophe.

Yes, I know. The repeated on-screen announcement had the apostrophe; hence the open letter.

I'll be losing the Bravo Channel sometime in September, so I've started to wean myself from it. I'm losing practically all the channels I got all of a sudden a few years back. All because I don't want to pay triple my present cost for digital cable.
