Completely at random -- it happens that I went to a new (to me) restaurant yesterday (The Friendly Toast), and they had Green Eggs And Ham. I had, of course, to order it.

(It was sort of eggs benny with herb sauce, and it was actually quite tasty. I do like green eggs and ham!)

My daughter sang "500 Hats" in class today while wearing a "Cat in the Hat" hat and a home-made "Cat in the Hat" shirt.

I do not like green eggs and ham,
They are not kosher, Sam I am.

The way I would have loved to hear that line delivered is:

I do not like green eggs and ham,
Because I'm Jewish, Sam I am!

I still remember you singing your Seuss song for me and my Dino when he was a wee lad still being dragged to conventions. It was very happy-making.

I sang "I DO. NOT. LIKE. GREEN EGGS and HAM, I DO. NOT. LIKE. THEM, SAM-I-AM, I WILL. NOT. EAT. THEM. HERE OR THERE, I WILL. NOT. EAT. THEM. ANYWHERE..." from that song quite a bit at work today, as well as randomly yelling "YERTLE TURTLE!" at folks to wake them up.

The youth leaders came into my room five times this afternoon, just to check on me and my boisterousness.

Will our mother like this? We don't know.

My daughter's school had a Dr. Seuss read-a-thon for most of the school day today. :)

Will you eat them with a mouse?

I ADORE Green Eggs And Ham. It was probably my second-favorite book in first grade (after Where The Wild Things Are).

"UNLESS"

So much meaning packed into that one word.

That, and the NOISE, NOISE, NOISE, NOISE!, and they'll SING, SING, SING, SING!

Thurl Ravenscroft. Because poor Boris couldn't sing a note.

Moxy Fruvous take on Green Eggs and Ham (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJG_ynKMOD4) via an amateur video.

In college, [livejournal.com profile] miriyami, [livejournal.com profile] batyatoon and I used to have speed reading contests with Fox in Socks. Out of this evolved the very menacing Fox, who would say thing like "Let's a have a little talk about .. *sound of ammunition slotting into large caliber chamber* tweetle beetles."
