I would assume that the biggest problem is the birds. It's a seagull feast for thousands, no doubt. Best of luck to the folks in Redondo getting this cleaned up.

I guess if it's suffocation, then the sea lions and seagulls taking care of them is not so bad. If it's anything worse, I don't want to see the cleanup creatures getting poisoned. :-(

I'm glad the composting for fertilizer place will get the ones scooped up by the human cleanup crew. It really is possible for all those fish to suffocate from overcrowding.
