GenCon?

Question: If I had concert time at GenCon (Indianapolis, IN, Aug. 4-7), who would show up? Especially if you have to pay for the tickets? (Probably just a couple of bucks -- I'm still trying to figure all this out, and I'm not worried about making money from the tickets so much as convincing GenCon I'm worth paying for).

I'd probably turn up once, depending on when; I usually turn up one day a year to help someone run their table. (I can only afford one day, LOL!)

If I can actually afford to make GenCon, I would absolutely pay for your concert.

...going to GenCon depends upon me finding a real, full-time job before, say, June.

EDIT: Asking your fans this question may be a bad idea. You might want to ask the general GenCon attendees so as not to have a skewed idea of expectations.

Well, since the primary question is "who'd show up", I think he's starting here to try and find the overlap of fans and GenCon attendees.

Tom, I really wish I fell into the latter camp, but August is my hell month at work.

If I was there I'd go, fer sure.

Of course, I'd also have to drag you to a "TOON!" game.

There would be 2 from my corner. There would probably be 2 or 3 more of our friends as well that are going to be there.

If I went to GenCon, I would pay for a ticket. But since I would be paying I would expect a little more polish. Please don't take this the wrong way. I've always enjoyed your concerts, but I've noticed that in a few concerts there are times where you flub a line or have to check your songbook. And in filk, that's OK. We understand and it's no big deal. The only time it really got to me was last year's Windycon and Tomboat had stop "This Island Earth" in the middle. So I guess what I mean is that if I were to buy a ticket to your show, and yes I would happily buy a ticket, I would want the concert to run smoothly.

When you went to GenCon (or was it Dragoncon I forget) last year I told my friend who was also going about you and suggested that he attend. He didn't because he had a conflict and he says he goes there mostly to game and mingle with the game publishers.

Hmm . . . that's the same weekend that I'm going to have to choose between local-to-me Dublin Irish Festival and driving to MuseCon 1.

Nope, not GenCon. Already doublebooked then.

See, that's the other thing. If I can do GenCon, I will, for the income. Otherwise, MuseCon baybeh!

I'd show up... unless it's on Thursday evening. There's a schedule conflict.

If it was *at* GenCon? No. Only because while I live near Indy, the funds to go to GenCon aren't there. and I'm cripply social anxiety issues.

If it was *near* GenCon? Hell yeah.

Cory and I are in charge of running Heroes of Rokugan this year. Unless it is somehow Sunday, we can't get away. :-(

I'd be interested in such a thing, but Saturday is completely out.

I try and make it to your shows at Gencon, unless Gencon goes out of their way to hide them from me (2008 I think?). I'll be working TerrorWerks atain but the concerts are usually scheduled after our last run for the day and I made it last year.

I would happily chip a couple of bucks into a jar but I usually don't have enough time to wait in that giant line to pick up some tickets, generic or otherwise.

I would definitely show up if it didn't conflict with any of my scheduled events (which includes the dealer's room and a couple of panels)

If I could get off work...I'd be there in a heartbeat since I can't make it to MilleniCon or MarCon this year.
