Off To Dragon*Con

Hittin' the road today. Ideally, this will be a blast and a half. I soitenly hope so.

The pocket program has most of my sets listed in Filk, rather than Live Concerts, so I thought I'd put them all here for those who care. :) Remember that the musicians' tables are at the Marriott this year, but all of these performances are at the Hyatt.

• Saturday, 7:00 p.m., Awards Banquet, Regency VI-VII
• Saturday 10:00 p.m., Intl N-South
• Sunday 3:30 p.m., Concourse Stage
• Sunday, 7:00 p.m., Regency V

It's a little frustrating that the filk concerts are not automatically lumped in with the live concerts, given that [a] we're not dead and [b] if you don't know to look for 'em, you'd hardly know that such excellent performers as Marc Gunn, Pandora Celtica, and the Bedlam Bards are here. The pocket program has all the Filk information on pages 24 and 25.

I can't wait!
But I like that the filk is separate. I don't want to see the other concerts -- I just go to the parties that happen to also be concerts. But I do go to filk just for the music. Filk should be -- and now is -- its own track, and I want to maximize the amount of time I can spend there. It would be confusing to have to search for filkers hidden among the other concerts sprinkled throughout the program. Plus I wouldn't have known that Marc Gunn (who I, sadly, had never heard of) was a filker if he wasn't on the filk list.

Why, I admit that looks like a pretty nice convention! I like small cons since there's usually less of a rush to them. Unfortunately I use larger conventions to network and occasionally sell books, so if I had to travel that far south I'd probably do it for Dragoncon.
