No, not the Marvel blockbuster -- the SyFy coattail-rider (I have not, until today, seen the term "mockbuster", but, oh yeah) starring Very Physical Thespian Kevin Nash as Odin, apparently. And Patricia Velasquez's collarbones. And Richard Grieco will be able to save you money on ca- oh, wait, no, he's playing Loki. And somebody named Cody Deal as The God Of Thunder And Rock And Ro-o-o-o-oll.

Are you ready for some RiffTrax?

Meantime, you might remember the Little Darth Vader Volkswagen commercial. Well, there's a slight parody of it.

We can assume that Loki will smirk, evidently. ;) With Kevin Nash, we have to hope that he doesn't have to walk anywhere, as his legs seem to come apart like an early 1980s GM automobile.

On the upside: Patricia Velasquez.

These "mockbusters" have been out for a few years now. I don't know what's more ridiculous, that the studio responsible gets away with making these C-grade films, or that some consumers actually "get confused" and think these are the blockbuster movies. I mean, come on, it doesn't take much to spot these.

Yeah, when Battleground:LA came out a month or so ago they debuted a same-titled similar storied but MUCH lower budget schlockfest on SyFy, also from Asylum.

One of my friends was posting on Facebook about taking his kids to the movie, and hie mother started posting saying "Wait, why, it's on TV tonight?"
That's when I looked it up & found out about these.

I've seen things like them for years, only they tend to be badly-animated direct-to-video knockoffs of impending Disney films. I do think my biggest laugh was when some company had rushed out an animated Pocahontas into the stores about two weeks before Disney's version hit.

I heard that in this movie, he loses Moljnir.

Guess this makes him a Thor loser...

Yeah, at the end of Iron Man 2, they find the hammer in the desert.

What's Stanley Burrell doing in the desert? Practicing dancing?

You'd be Mighty Thor too if you had to haul that hammer around all day.

I remember seeing a fan vid someone took of Kevin Nash at Logan International Airport a couple of days before Royal Rumble (he was there for the surprise entrance at RR). He was asked why he had dyed his hair black, he said it was for a movie role. I could have sworn it was this film. Always kayfabe the fans, even the ones smarter than you, I guess.

Reminds me when Marvel published their own parody magazine, Not Brand Ecch! Their cartoony parody of the Thunder God was called "Mighty Sore" and he lisped all over the place. (Well, Marvel only got the humor business done right during a short period, when the late, great Steve Gerber wrote for them.)

Seriously, at least the SyFyLis channel is doing something besides the CGI Bug Monster of the Week for their movies. If they play this right they might achieve the same kind of fame that Roger Corman and American-International did with their cheapjack drive-in movies. They could turn out Cap'n 'Murkah in a week and a half, to steal a march on the new theatrical movie, and then tap off two popular genre stories in one title, by calling their team-up movie The Aventuresome Brothers.

I've been so tempted to quote the Not Brand Ecch! this whole thread. "Thou hast made a blunder! I am not Mighty Sore!" "You're not!?" "Nah, I'm just kinda angry. He's Mighty Sore...."
