Free Comic Book Day

At a comic store near you! And I'll be at Comic City of Canton, 42727 Ford Road in Canton, MI, along with Odd and Liz from Mad World Radio. It should be quite silly, and loud, and musical, and four-color, and all that. And I understand there may be free comic books involved.

Checking out comic book stores in our new location, selling a few (O.K. a BUNCH) of used books to a used book store we found, and grocery shopping.

Taking in a showing of "Thor" is on our list as well...

Oh, right--what I'm up to. My Federal Courts exam is done, so I'm down in DC for the weekend. I return on Monday and then I have to finish my Colloquium on Innovation Policy paper and my Information Privacy take-home exam before next Tuesday.

Next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday...I graduate.

I did all of my Saturday and most of my Sunday running around today. Tomorrow I am at my brother's place all day for Mother's Day so that kills my time to do my normal Sunday stuff. Since I was at a con last weekend, and won't be home again next Sunday, this is getting to be a pain to catch up on and keep up with my weekend stuff. I need a vacation from my vacation.

Staying the hell away from Churchill Downs has been the primary thing to do. (Fortunately for me, that's easy to do; I live several miles away from the track.) I visited a couple of comic stores. One of them had a couple of young ladies dressed as Zatanna and Black Widow.

My friend Chris and I went to six comic book stores around Grand Rapids, and had Chinese food for supper. It was a good day. I wore my Legion of Super-Heroes t-shirt and flight ring.

Well, I went down to the Ford dealership to learn what our options are for the approaching end of my wife's lease. After half an hour, I decided my weekend is too short and left to get other stuff done. Later, the person I was supposed to meet called to apologise and reschedule for next Friday. I also called my mom, but she was not in. I plan on trying to get a little more sleep after my dog is done with her breakfast, call mom again, then possibly go shopping with mu wife, and then go to work in the afternoon - my weekend is already over.

Went to a few Comic Book stores to obtain most of the free comics (did you know that some stores put a limit on how many you can have? And I'm not talking about how many you can have of each, I'm talking about having to stand there and choose which 3 comics you want... out of a choice of 15-20).

On tap for today: spending time with my future MIL early afternoon and then having dinner with my mom.

Still unpacking (and will be until some time after Cthulhu rises from the mist, but, hey, then it won't matter!).

My son took me to see Thor on Mother's Day (we ate at the theater - BLT & green chili mac & cheese, yum!) and then we continued our annual day of nerdgasms by going to the comic book store.

I found some rubber tentacles to work into my still-in-the-planning-stages steampunk Priestess of Cthulhu ensemble.
