I liked the Transformers one. Let's hope they finally understand that we go to the movies to see big honkin robots beat the crap out of each other. We don't care much about the human drama.

Which explains why I save a ton of money not-going to movies these days.

I'm a writer. I demand a story and characters when I go to a film. I can't be bribed with 2.5 hours of CGI screensavers if it's clear they a) forgot to hire actors that could ACT and b) spent 2 years and $3B on the effects, then let the director's girlfriend/PA scribble the script in 2 weeks.

As someone who also rarely goes to the movies (maybe twice a year) I have to say that at least most movie trailers/promos are honest in portraying what the movie will be like. At the few movies I do go to I tend to sit through the previews shaking my head in horror at the idea that I'd want to waste my time and money watching them.

For reference the last movie I saw in theaters was Inception, before that Toy Story 3
