Revised doomsday: Oct. 21. Ah, well -- it's the first day of OVFF, so I'll be with many of the people I love best.

What's your week looking like? I have to finish at least one and possibly three commission jobs, burn some CDs for World Steam Expo, and launder the bedclothes/turn the mattress.

My plan for each day starting today: Work. Work. Work. HersheyPark. Karaoke Party. Balticon? Recover.

Then back to work for the following week.

Debating finding a stuffed animal and taking it to the park with me for a photo-shoot. Kind of like those "traveling" mooses and penguins I sometimes see 'blogs for.

I'm on vacation this week, so much of my time will be focused on the house: spring cleaning, getting the garden cleared out and/or started, and laundry. Friday, I'll be heading up north for the weekend at a yoga retreat up in Vanderbilt for some spiritual time.

Get through this week without losing my mind, then I'm on vacation to Las Vegas/Los Angeles for a while. Yay! Then it's buckling down and beefing up the budget for July...seven concerts, seven cities, seven different states...five weeks. We're nuts.

Work, with some laundry and some transcoding and CD burning in between. Exciting stuff.

Just finished writing twenty-two pages of comic script yesterday. Today it's picking out a playlist for tomorrow night's DementiaRadio.org show; then, final prep for Comicpalooza, leaving Thursday afternoon. Hopefully over the course of the weekend get some script work done on other projects.

That could make things interesting... I suspect someone will do an end of the world theme circle.

I am glad to hear that you have gotten the 1-3 commission jobs. (May it turn into the 3.)

As for the week, its looking to be quiet. I do have an audio project I need to work on, which is starting to assemble.

Chances are my contract will end this Friday so I'll be trying to wrap things up here. With a little luck, I'll stay another week but I'm not expecting it. There were a bunch of projects they wanted done and I pretty much did them. When it's time to go, I can leave with my head held high knowing I did a good job. I still have to think about the next job, but I'll cross that bridge when it comes.

I want to call my cable provider this week and check into lowering my bill. Also I plan on listening to more Tek Diff. (I'm now on August 2008 after starting from the beginning.)

The filk radio station on Live365 is considering closing down due to lack of listeners. I haven't been listening much lately because 1) podcasts have taken up my time and 2) they haven't changed their playlist in ages and I feel like I've listened to every song they played a hundred times over. The problem is, if it goes where can I listen to filk that's not in my collection?

New, from Fundyco! It's the all revised Rapture 3.0!

Yeah, there's a surprise, that this headcase (and charlatan) is making yet *another* prediction. I wish I could feel compassion for his screwed-up followers, but I just can't muster it.

I'm frantically getting ready for the Dallas CityArts festival this weekend... and hoping that I can find a last-minute replacement for the guy who bailed on helping me with setup Friday morning.

Work through Saturday. Am hoping for light freight this week.

Am in the grips of unshakable cyberpunk bunny. May come up for air in another 30,000 words.

Helping a friend move on Sunday. She's moving 2 doors down from her current house, so we plan a bucket brigade from Spare Oom to New Place.

My kids have to go to school on Monday, so no cook out.

Clean up from League of Women Voters Reorganization meeting.

Work on canoe--finish fiberglassing inside, hopefully.

Practice for Marcon sets. At least to the point where I won't make a fool of myself.

Water tender food plants enough they won't die over weekend. Possibly mow lawn but let's face it, this will be the first thing to be left undone.

Marcon.

The students at the behavior treatment center were evidently seriously upset about the alleged Rapture. Hearing me say that if God didn't tell his own son Jesus the date and time, ain't nobody gonna know it seemed to help them.

But I was astonished at how many bought into the notion of the revised Rapture in October. Perhaps I shouldn't be, since the October date was one he talked about being the end-of-the-world after months of suffering.

One kid wished that the dude's church would be hit by a tornado, but he thought that might actually encourage the guy to think he was more right.

Straightening out taxes. Finding out if my shirt in the woot derby will print. Drumming up more customers for my day job, and hopefully making arrangements for Rachal's dental work tomorrow morning.

I can check off of my list, apparently, the possibility of getting hailed/rained/blown out of our apartment, since the worst of the weather seems to have passed us by.

1) Sit on bench.
2) Pull oar.
3) Repeat until paid.

OTOH, my other job starts up again this Saturday - my pizza-money weekend pool-sitting gig at the condo. (Cause it's so AWFUL to make money spending a gorgeous summer afternoon under a tree by a pool.)
