Here it comes again: more really nasty weather in the southern Midwest. Starting with Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, heading east to Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Illinois, etc.

And there are severe thunderstorm watches in the east, the Virginias and NC particularly.

If you're in the way, be watchful, and be ready to hunker down, and then let us know you're all right after it's past.

Maybe if the midwest would convert to atheism there wouldn't be a god who keeps punishing sinners with terrible weather that affects everybody else in the area.

Or is it _because_ of the bad weather everyone prays to god to make it stop?

Actually, here in southwestern Ohio, we are blaming this weather on the absence of John Scalzi. He is currently on a book signing tour of the rest of the country and the people in Seattle were thrilled that he brought the sun with him. It was Ohio's sun. Even if he the president of SFWA and the country needs him, it is time that he returned to Ohio.

Although some people are considering the weather around here as the almightly's judgment on the rebuilding of the statue (known as touch down Jesus) at the Church of the Living Rock just north of Cincinnati, that was destroyed by lightening last year..Now that was a smiting!!

Are they rebuilding that? I do find that I miss it. Between that and the Trader's World flea market just beyond, it's like the Mecca of kitsch. Which I'm sure will put another lightning bolt to the spleen on my tab.

It's supposed to be a full figure statue (as opposed to "drowning Jesus". I had read that PETA had offered to help fund it if they had the figure carring a lamb, but that was declined.

Ya gotta "love" Ohio...it provides so much amusement...

We'll miss you at Marcon..have fun at the Steampunk con...Oh, how I wish that they didn't conflict...I expect a full report..
