I'll try to get to recording this in the next 24. No, I didn't parody the whole song -- I don't think it was necessary.

Don't Tweet Your Weiner
Words: © Tom Smith
Music: "Don't Fear The Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult

All our politicians
Are so freakin’ dumb
Rule One: Don't Tweet your Weiner
Nor do Facebook, Linkedin or Skype
(We can be so juvenile)

Come on baby
(Don't Tweet your Weiner)
Baby take my spam
(Don't Tweet your Weiner)
Twelve megapixels
(Don't Tweet your Weiner)
Baby I’m your man

La, la la, la la
La, la la, la la

His career is done
He’s here but soon he’ll be gone
Andrew and Anthony
Making headlines with a bunch of lies
(Andrew and Anthony)

(Like Andrew and Anthony)
(Redefine truth and privacy)
Another scandal coming every day
(we can be so asinine)

Come on baby
(Don't Tweet your Weiner)
Baby wash your hands
(Don't Tweet your Weiner)
Unzip my fly
(Don't Tweet your Weiner)
Baby that’s my glans

La, la la, la la
La, la la, la la

Tom, I knew which tune you would use to filk this just by reading the title. I'm not sure whether this fact should make me inordinately proud — or a little bit scared. :-)

And kudos for using something other than the obvious Oscar Meyer jingle.

don't fear the voter/ballot...

*sigh* One begins to believe that politics rots the brain, pretty much universally.

Not so much that it rots the brain as that it selects for a certain sort of people by being such a horrid business that everyone else either avoids it, or can't be fully effective at it.

For the record, he's my congressman. I really don't care about this. It was stupid, and probably will stop him from being mayor, but it really shouldn't disqualify him from serving in congress. (Not that I like him much. He strikes me as just another politician in a city where many of his cohorts are much better.)

But yes, he deserves to be ridicules in song. And really, with a name like that, he should have thought a lot more.

Lying to the public about it is what should DQ him. The issue with Clinton (people forget this) that lead to impeachment (which I think was overboard) wasn't the BJ, it was LYING about it under oath.

Ditto for this... Weiner could've just ignored it, but he came out & made a big production and lied thru his teeth.
So at this point he's basically violated the public's trust & shown that they can't trust his word. That's a DQ.

Ditto and agreed. It's the lying.

There's a major difference between lying under oath and lying to a question that nobody has any right to even ask.

I don't care what Weiner does online, so long as he's not being creepy about it. All those women who have come forward thus far confirm his claim that it was consensual. If his wife is OK with it, fine.

I am pissed at him, though, because New York state loses two Congressional seats in 2012, and he's just hung the great big bullseye on his chest to be redistricted out of his seat. The GOP will pick up seven or eight seats on Census-driven redistricting overall nationwide, which means effective liberal leaders like Weiner will be that much more necessary.

The California map turns out to favor a potential D+4, and the Texas population growth favors two minority districts, so it may not be that bad for the Ds.

The population growth might favor it, but the Republicans hold total power here.

Texas is about to go from 32 representatives to 36. Of the four brand-new districts, three of them lean strongly Republican. The old 32 are also being redrawn so long-time Democrat Doggett has been dropped into a hideously gerrymandered pro-Republican district. The net result will be Republicans +4, barring a truly tremendous anti-Perry landslide in 2012.

I think however that this song need a little more fleshing out? The opening verse doesn't seem to scan to any part of the song's tune I recognize. it's like you need more verse....
