From the nun in about the 5th-6th row...

This was one of the most incredible con experiences I've EVER had. The electricity, the energy, the excitement...it was so much fun. Kudos to those that pulled it together within a few months and to those who learned that dance, then took Guinness by storm. Record or not, this has to win for "Coolest Dance Ever." :-)

You did.
The FSM was just ahead of me in the entrance line and not far from me on the dance floor.

I'm the large lady in pink at about the 50 second mark. blink and you miss me.

I about fell over when I saw him! There's just something so creepy-cool about having "The King" do The Thriller. :-)

Man I really have to start going to conventions again. I miss out on so much goodness! :-(

*sigh* Maybe I can cobble together funds for Windycon since OVFF is out of the picture for me due to unforeseen circumstances.

We won't be able to beat that at Anime Weekend Atlanta next weekend--but what we'll have instead is the Death Note version, "KIRA!" with Ryuk playing the part of Vincent Price...it will be part of the Anime Filk: Songs In The Key of O(taku) panel/concert from 8-10. Anyone who was part of the D*C "Thriller" who happens to be at AWA is welcomed to drop by and join in--check the program for the location, 'cause I think we're in the room they usually do the Karaoke program.

Since I posted the panel time has changed again--it's back to a 1 hr slot but that's still on for Saturday night. We'll also be doing a Fullmetal Alchemist MockOpera, "The Revenge of the Miniskirt Army" and other examples of Anime Filk, including salutes to Saiyuki, Black Butler, Bleach and other shows. the AWA team has been the best and hopefully we can keep the tradition going!

I think every Dragon*Con should have a group dance to break some sort of record. I was behind [livejournal.com profile] ladystarblade and this was honestly one of the most thrilling (pardon the pun) experiences I have ever had at a convention. It was excitement all around.

And much better than the original.

Call me a wet blanket, but I've always loathed the "Thriller" video. Starts with a movie of a frightened girl being terrorized by a monster -- and Michael laughing in pleasure at the sight and taunting his upset girlfriend for being upset -- and ends with him and his zombie pals terrorizing his girlfriend again. Yeah, misogyny is so fucking awesome.

I'm in there!! I'm one of the Jayne hats! Second row middle in the green Blue Sun t-shirt. :)
It was soooooooo much fun! Record breaking attempt or not, I hope we do it again next year!
