I remember Pixar saying "no sequels", and TS 3 certainly sets up that vibe.

On the one hand, I was surprised to see Cars 2 coming out, on the other hand, since Cars is still making a fuckton of money, I'm not surprised at all.

Cars ended on a complete story. Cars 2 is just there to make money.

I am so not a fan of Cars so I'm not happy to see a plane version. Not happy to see a winged cars as the next project.

Y'know, lately it seems that any time someone links to a trailer on you tube, by the time I get to it the thing has been removed. You have to wonder just what they make trailers FOR. I mean, doesn't advertising have to be seen?

Fans of MGM cartoons will find this all a bit familiar. As we no doubt did for Cars.

My only memory of watching "Cars" was dealing with the hideous broodsow cussing loudly into her jangling cellphone while her entire pack of yelling kids ran up and down and loudly talked through the film. At an evening showing.

I didn't originally expect to, but I liked Cars, in large part because I'm familiar enough with the remnants of Route 66 that got cut off by the freeways, having toured through some of 'em as a kid. They got the feel right.
