Speculations on the Potter sites (yes, I am a sad bunny) are that this is a launch of a Potter-themed online role playing game - more Warners than JKR.
I dunno. After 4+ years of feeling embarrassed on her behalf for the bad sixth book and the catastrophe she made of her final novel it's hard to see her showing her face as a HP author again. Maybe harder for me than for her, though. :-)
Plus, this was the woman who, in the last year of writing DH, had a camera crew follow her around. And who scribbled on a statue in her hotel room "J. K. Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room (652) on 11 January 2007". With that sort of ego would she have written a book so quietly, without anyone knowing?
Full sarcasm mode on, Ian is my middle offspring and while he enjoys Harry Potter as fun stories he can and does spend lots of time talking about all the plot holes and issues in the books. I expect he'll have something interesting to say.
I'm hoping it's some sort of role-playing game? Could be fun IMO but then I've been forced to watch my P crazed son and niece play Wizrds 101 and it is just hideous :P
I kinda wanna see the adventures if the next generation of little Weasleys and Potters running around with little mention of their parental units. Was it just me or was the epilogue of the last book just an obvious set up to a spin off series?
I'm surprised to hear such vitriol over Wizard 101. May I ask what you don't like about it? (I'm a former player; I'd definitely go back if I could afford to keep my subscription up.)
What I want to know is why do the countdown on youtube and use the pottermore site to lead to it instead of just doing the bloody countdown on the pottermore site.
I think it means they've found the keys to the HP Money Printing Machine and have use for it once the movie comes up next month. Can't let that well get too dry now...

It COULD be a series of books by other authors with her name stamped on as "JKR and ...." or "Inspired by JKR's Harry Potter".
Remote possibility: Hogwarts the TV series.
Whatever it is, I bet she's barely involved.
