I've known some _very_ open-minded good people type rednecks, not a lot to be sure, but enough that I could enjoy this show without getting all cynical. Although to be honest, I met them all up here in the pacific northwest because they wanted to move as far as possible from their home states to get away from the mainstream rednecks.

Anyone who's actually spent time living in different parts of the country (or around the world for that matter) knows that rednecks are by no means exclusive to the southern US. And even down here I know plenty of people who would be painted with that name who help their neighbors and follow a belief of "I may not agree with what
