It's only 105 today. I feel like I should go outside while it's not too hot.

However I love that song.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with "110 in the Shade" [the musical version of "The Rainmaker"] to even know what song titles to LOOK for.

Fortunately, YouTube is familiar enough (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=110+in+the+shade+musical&aq=f). :)

Tryin' to Reason with Hurricane Season (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xg-zwba7l5w)... parrothead that I am...

Also, my least favorite, after the 'Pocalypse of '08-9? "Let It Sn*w".

Well, I've been fond of "Weather Report" for quite a long time if that's not stretching it too far. :-)

Wow - I didn't know there were any Weather Report videos around. Thanks.

Don't know how to link to it, but in Donna Barr's "Desert Peach" musical, there's a song called "It's Hot."

I DID NOT KNOW THERE WAS A DESERT PEACH MUSICAL.

Okay. Okay. Calm.

First, Donna Barr's web site (http://www.desert-peach.com/), wherein you can read Desert Peach, Stinz, and her newer works I haven't seen, Hader and the Colonel and Bosom Enemies. If you haven't seen Stinz, especially, you're in for a treat.

Second, let me poke around here.... got it (https://sledpress.wordpress.com/the-desert-peach-musical/).

Uh, hate to break it to you. The DP musical was made in 1989 or so, lasted four performances. I've heard the soundtrack - and the conclusion I came to was this:

As a musical writer, Donna Barr is a really good comics-artist.

The choreography is unmistakably Bob Fosse. Hot!

Here's the great Lena Horne singing about Stormy Weather.

No weather related songs. I stayed inside today and skipped the food pantry due to the heat. I want to go Thursday anyway and say goodbye to the people who go on that date. Turned out that if I did go today I would have missed some phone calls and being part of a team on City of Heroes.

On the plus side I am making progress on the filk wiki. I'm working through my CD collection and updating it with pictures and new (to my collection) albums.

Some of the embeds I can't see, so at the risk of duplication, I'll drop some Fogarty on you. Quite a different 110 in the Shade. There's a nice live version on YouTube also, but this vid puts together some great photos.

Oh, nice! I'd never seen a staged production of this, and this is lovely.

I'm drawing a blank on hot weather-related songs, though.

My favorite song about the weather, particularly appropriate right now as the TV waits for the front to move on, is a little something by a singer/songwriter you might know/:
