Now this is a graphics remix: "What If Male Superheroes Posed Like Wonder Woman On The David Finch Justice League Cover?"

Who's your favorite female hero, and why? I think I'm always going to have something for both Shadowcat and Catwoman -- not the feline aspect, but the "I'm gonna be pretty much myself, in costume or not" aspect.

Oracle, probably. The fact that she basically unfridged herself makes her incredibly dear to my heart, and the fact that she makes the point that punching isn't everything there is to being a hero. (Reboot? What reboot? Of course Barbara Gordon is still Oracle.)

Marvel-side, I'd have to say Storm. (Still bitter that Halle Berry sucked all the life out of her in the movies. She looked the role well enough but didn't have half the gravitas to pull it off.)

Hadn't ever fantasy recast Storm but you're right, Gina Torres would've been awesome!

Wonder Woman, tho she's got a lot of close close CLOSE runners-up, from both DC and Marvel. Too many to list really.

And OH MY ZOD MY EYES MY EYES! Those male hero depictions are... *shudder* Tho, admittedly, the Finch WW picture shown at the bottom (this was my first time seeing it, by the way) isn't all that great either, and not just the pose! I don't think I like his art style.

The sad thing is...THere isn't a lot of difference for Aquaman...

Kitty Pryde will *always* be my favoritiest char, tho Diana Prince is my 2nd choice. *sighs* tho Dinah Lance would be third *especially when she ditches Ollie*

sadly, not nearly as many choices for female chars :(

I don't even know what, if anything, is going on with Jennifer Walters these days.

Dinah rocks. Though I'm also very fond of Babs.

...And cue the "Next on the agenda: How do we get women and girls to buy more comics?" screed after this.

It might help if the male writers and male inkers and male editors wouldn't write such limp storylines for female charas.

After JLU, I've always been fond of Black Canary, as well as the depictions of Starfire and Raven in Teen Titans Go!.

I, on the other hand, adored Raven in the Wolfman/Perez era. Nothing at all against Starfire -- in a world without Babs, she'd be my OTP with Dick Grayson -- but everything about Raven hit my buttons, from her angst and her tragic origin and her attempts to overcome her heritage to her non-standard (and still incredibly beautiful) facial features and her mile-long legs. Until they screwed up Jericho beyond all belief, I thought they were heading toward a Raven/Jericho romance, which I think could've been amazing.

One True Pair (used in fan fiction communities a lot to describe two characters the reader feels are perfect for each other - Spock/Kirk is one or Hermione/Harry for the Potter books - sometimes people pick pairing that are canon and shown in the source material but it more often appears for two characters that fans wish were together).

Wonder Woman and Saturn Girl have always been my favorites. Mythology and brains -- two of my favorite things.

I'm into Batgirl. Granted, my exposure was all TV, but hey. Redhead, rides a motorcycle, is a librarian in real life and kicks a lot of butt? Is it any wonder all us little protodykes in the 70s wanted to be Batgirl?

Wonder Woman was all right, but she was my little sister's heroine. I didn't get into XMen like my other sister did.

Oracle. Kicks butt from a wheelchair. (Will not rant about what's wrong with making her Batgirl again right now.)

Renee Montoya as the Question. No really reason for her not to be a cop anymore, but Rucka made her transition work so well.

Sue Richards. Mother, wife, hero. Hot without being a sexpot. Smart, capable, and a match for her hubby.

She-Hulk and Black Canary are usually my top two, they kick a lot of butt, and the wisecracking helps as well. Wonder Woman's great.

I love Babs too, moreso as Oracle than as Batgirl because she was pretty damn valuable to the superhero community and EFFECTIVE on top of it.

Invisible Woman, Storm, Rogue, and the Scarlet Witch have always been favorites in terms of operating within a team because of the coolness factor.

For Western comics; Power Girl is definitely one of my top favorites, and Steph Brown as Batgirl is not far behind.

All the more reason I'm not looking forward to DC's "reboot".

For manga/anime, Nausicaa (Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind) and Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell).
