I'm afraid the transcript link features an autoplay commercial.

I share my computer space with someone else and feel embarrassed when my computer just starts talking without my okay and I have to sort through my tabs to shut it off.

Thank you for drawing my attention to things. If you wanted to include a sentence or two about what this was, that would help me search for information about it.

Understood. I try to let the posts speak for themselves sometimes, but a little clue would probably help. And, I thought that the transcript page was separate, but apparently it's actually part of the embedded video on the host page. Sorry.

Not a problem. Just thought I'd mention it. I appreciate you editing the post.

Also--not as a criticism of providing the link, but as a warning that they're actively pursuing this stuff--the embedded ad I saw there was Exxon pushing us toward developing Canadian tar sands, a touchy issue with lots and lots of environmentalist organizations against it.

Gaaaaaaah. I didn't see any ads. I have the feeling that, between AdBlock Plus and NoScript, I miss most of the ads I hear my friends complaining about on a number of sites.

Yeah, with AdBlock Plus it goes right to O'Donnel, no ads.

Um, for those of us who also can't load the page without disturbing others with these ads, could someone, I don't know, maybe, SAY what this whole thing is about?

I got the commercial from the US Gas Industry trying to convince us about how safe and how good for all of us that fracking is, the process that poisons wells and land and people by underground explosions that release deadly toxic gases into the local water supplies and maybe into regional aquifers. The pity is that MSNBC, which is editorially opposed to the practice, is willing to take on advertising like this. I suppose they have to pay the power bill, but it's too bad they cannot be more selective about what they accept.
