[profile] invader_tak_1 points us to an insanely wonderful web comic: Cyanide and Happiness. (You have to see the animated short, "Waiting For The Bus".)

Time for our periodic Web Comics Recommendation thread. Whatcha readin'?

World of Hurt (http://worldofhurtonline.com/2009/04/13/woh-thrillseekers-title-pg/): Promoting itself as the #1 Blacksploitation comic on the web, I'd be hard pressed to disagree. It really does have the inking style of a B&W 70's exploitation comic. Unrelated note: Marvel's old B&W comic magazines from the 70s are amazing. Seriously, some of the best art I've seen.

She Died in Terrebonne (http://www.agreeablecomics.com/kimimura/?p=9): Keven Church's new webcomic. To early to tell if it's going to be straight up mystery, thriller, or who knows what. Still, the man writes a mean blog.

Registered Weapon (http://registered-weapon.com/2009/01/12/the-beginning/): Another comic where crime talks precedence, but more of a buddy cop dynamic. With the classic team-up of old grizzled cop on the edge, and a cash register that was turned into a sentient robot that became a police detective. You should read it. I'm not saying anything, but a policeman threatens to eat a cat right there on page one.

I can't say enough about Templar, AZ -- Spike is a genius.
Also, Lovecraft is Missing, The Bunny System, Crimson Dark, and old chestnuts Something Positive and Two Lumps. Oh, and Girl Genius, of course.

Started reading Girls with Slingshots because of the crossover with SP, and while it's been an enjoyable read, not sure if I'll keep up with it.

and a lot of traditional newspaper comics available online. I can recommend all of them to some extent. My major complaint is the irregularity of updates from Jump Leads, Jesus and Mo, Dork Tower, and Partially Clips. I don't care what their schedule is as long as they stick to it. Few things are as discouraging to readership as to go to the same link time and time again and seeing the same comic.

You're right, that animated short is wonderful, especially the ending.

I started reading Girls With Slingshots a few months ago, so the S*P crossover worked well for me. Otherwise, my list hasn't changed in the last few months.

I just want to note that Girl Genius has been rockin' the house lately. The ending of this one may be my favorite panel of the year.

Not to mention this splash panel.

Catena (http://www.catenamanor.com/)
The Phoenix Requiem (http://requiem.seraph-inn.com/)

I follow well over 100 webcomics, at one point I was doing close to 300 (yes, it was too many and was taking too long to read them all). Most of the ones I would suggest are here already, and I still saw a few new suggestions. God I love threads like these. I will dig through my list to see if there are any others worth mentioning here (some are for personal taste only).

A few that I did not see mentioned:
