What that actually means is a contest, sponsored by the German company Best Service: create a track, up to three minutes long, using only sounds in this download (scroll down to find it) powered by their Engine 2 player.

Contest? Hey, sure, cool. But what's really cool is that you get 2-1/5 GB of noise, demo'ing some of their awesome (if pricey) sound packs. Ambient, synths, percussion... as always, be sure to hold the key down to hear the full sound -- it's amazing how deep noises are getting lately.

Any new music on your side?

I can't seem to find the download you're talking about, and there isn't any "down" to scroll to. The only links I can click on are the separate packages. Am I doing something wrong?

Huh. You running NoScript? That might cause a problem. Anyway, here's a working link (http://www.bestservice.de/battle.asp/download/en). The download button is below the e-mail field. Note that the e-mail is optional; if you enter it, they'll send you a voucher for a discount on their site.

The new link did it, I'm downloading it now. I'm not running NoScript or any of that. Maybe the first link takes _you_ to the download because you've got a cookie with gooey sounds and crunchy virtual instruments baked in? That's happened to me before.

Are making an entry to the contest? If so, can we hear it?

Maybe after DragonCon. Too much to do right now, not enough time or brain to do it.

Ooooo, I have a friend going to that. If she finds out you weren't in top form because because of an HTML issue _I_ brought up, she'll kill me!

No new music, but Oh Dear, I have discovered some really good old time radio: Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, Rougue's Gallery, Richard Diamond, Phillip Marlowe, Sam Spade, Boston Blackie...

The newest free music available from me is on the Filk Archive at http://www.filkarchive.org.uk

A free membership is required for download. (I put up a song performed by MadFilkentist).

I am working on getting more permissions on some other songs for the site from those whom I have recorded.

Also, I have started to crack the archives at the Big Blue House in Mass and am starting to ID the recordings. (Something from 1994 will turn up soon! Likely @ OVFF on the interfilk table. No permissions have been requested or granted at this time.)

And I am posting in my LJ about a new for sale CD that I should have posted about in early July. Roberta did say she sold almost all of the copies she brought to Worldcon.

Alas, not at the moment. I abandoned the blue oyster cult filk -- nobody but me would get "Go Drosophila".
