filkertomHurricane Irene has been taking its sweet time about landfall, but it's finally done so. weatherdude and others have lots of info and video at Hurricane Kos, and of course there's Weather Underground.
If you are anywhere in the path of this beast -- from North Carolina up through Massachusetts -- HUNKER DOWN OR GET OUT NOW. And ignore the flippin' morons who are saying, "Aw, it's down to a Category One, it ain't so bad." In a heavily populated area, yes, it is so bad.
