Get Well Soon, Ray

billroper told me last night that Ray Van Tilburg had an emergency triple bypass yesterday. Apparently he's doing much better, but still. Hugs and good thoughts go to him and Barb.

As one who went through that a dozen years ago, I can attest that it's no fun, so certainly wishing him all the best. All fandom appreciates Ray's incomparable work. He's a fine person, and I'm sure we all hope to see him back at cons real soon.

Spoke with Controuble last evening and got this report. She had gone to the hospital to see Ray and Barb.



went and saw Ray today - he's doing fine - no heart attack - he was having chest pains and told Barb to take him to the hospital on Tuesday - the Sandwich hospital had him transferred to Edwards on Wed. and surgery done Friday

4 blockages, 3 over 90% - triple bypass as they could go around 2 of them with a single route

caught before any damage to heart muscle, too - good

My best wishes - I had a double bypass three years ago, and I feel great. They do wonders these days. The key is exercise and diet. He needs to follow the guidelines they give him and do the rehab! And continue the exercise.
