The Muppets Should Host The 2012 Oscars

Bleeding Cool informs us that Eddie Murphy has dropped out. Brett Ratner put his foot in his mouth. And Brian Grazer is now in charge.

And suddenly the 'net is all a-Twitter about the dream, ever so slowly inching towards a possibility, that The Muppets might host this year's Oscar Awards show.

I am frickin on that train. Care to join me?

Though my first thought on seeing Brian Grazer as producer is that they should get his buddy Ron Howard. But in the persona of the narrator of Arrested Development.

Currently the poll at indiewire.com is showing the Muppets ahead with 82% of the vote. Eddie Murphy is second at 8%.

I'd watch -- and I haven't watched the oscars in two decades or more!
